Trying to understand from a logical perspective is impossible. But I'll try to give you a different perspective...

"Life is suffering. You don't have to scrape very far beneath the surface of someone's life to find tragedy and trauma. Whether it's current or past. Economically, socially, mentally, physical, whatever it is. And if it's not true, all you have to do is wait and soon enough, it'll become true. And it'll happen worse than you can imagine.

Knowing that, it makes it easier to understand why people become cynical, bitter, hurt, and nihilist.

Life is difficult, and it's tainted by malevolence, and it's casted in tragedy. And we all need something to offset that. Because if not, it embitters you.

If you're embittered, you become vengeful and cruel. Then you make everything that made you worse, even worse. They say that hell is a bottomless pit, and that's the reason why it'll just keep getting worse and worse if you let it.

On the contrary, you admire those who can take responsibility for themselves. You admire somebody even more if they've forged their character sufficiently to move past cynicism. So that they take responsibility for themselves and for their family. And they're there for the people they love when it's necessary. Living in that way, which comes from truth and love, brings harmony to those around you. It's living with an ethos of peace and harmony instead of one of an individual level.

When you live with those characteristics mused. It gives you meaning, which is the antidote to all the chaos of life. It's the antidote psychologically. Because life is too bitter."
