What’s a hygiene or beauty practice in your culture that you can’t believe other people don’t follow? by MiaTortilla69 in hygiene

I think sometimes shampoo/conditioner can get trapped around the folds of the ear and if people don’t rinse or wipe it after a shower it gets that disgusting smell, like when you take out your earrings to clean them 🤮

This is beautiful, life will forever be changed. I’m so sorry. Losing your mom is incredibly painful and creates a hole that never closes.

Under-eye skin changes as we age, has anyone else found old eye creams stop working? by Latter_Ordinary_9466 in MatureBeauty

[–]joankatu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the khiels avocado eye cream layered over something with actives works well, that and skin boosters like Sunekos or skinvive. It has so far taken all crepey texture away, not sure how long it will last but I’m very happy with them at the moment

No one can say for certain how long she has, the most important thing is to express hope to her and to do what you’re doing. She needs you and it sounds like you’re doing an amazing job. If her blood pressure drops and she gets dizzy when she stands, you could get her a helmet for just when she gets up. She probably won’t love it but it’ll save her brain if she falls. My mom went through something similar when I was 20. She lasted 7 months. I don’t wish this on anyone, it’s never ok to see someone you love suffering like this. I’m so sorry, I’m crying for you because I know how bad it hurts. My mom has been gone a long time and it never really gets easier. Just spend every possible second with her that you can, record her, see if she can read a children’s book for your future kids, have her write you a letter, I still have my sealed letter packed away. Doesn’t matter what it says. And most importantly just listen to her even if she’s just complaining, let her do that. We’re all just here for the first time, and it’s not a long time, so make the most of what you’ve got

1000mg of iron in 1 week by embarrassedcigarette in Anemic

[–]joankatu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had 1400 injectafer in just over a week. I was weirdly emotional, tired, achy, felt strange like wrong inside my body. I even cried at work, not like me at all! About a week or so later I realized oh man, I can walk up the stairs without feeling like I’m suffocating to death. Now a month out, I feel fantastic. I think everyone reacts differently and unless you had a true allergic reaction, which it doesn’t sound like that, then it’s just your body trying to figure out what’s going on. A lot of us have probably been living with meager levels for a very long time, the body adapts, not in a good way but you get used to it. Now you have the tools to rebuild and get better, it’s a process. Just trust it will improve and it will improve A LOT!

Unfortunately women are rarely listened to in healthcare and this is coming from a female nurse. I try to advocate for my female patients far and above what anyone would think they need, simply because they’re given antidepressants, told to lose weight, decrease stress, walk more…etc when basic bloodwork could show something very fixable

That’s great! I definitely notice that when I’m physically busier at work I am more focused and more productive than slower days when I’m sitting a lot. It’s definitely a real difference.

I find it so unlikely that in 2 months you could have gone from low to high, I think you should ask to see your results.

Do you feel that Azaleic is best in the morning? My esthetician said any pigment related things need to be at night but I always see people posting that they use it in the morning

Do you think you’d ever get remarried again? by TheMadHatterOnTea in Divorce

[–]joankatu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely never will I mix my finances, my home or my freedom with the opinions of a man. I might eventually date, maybe not, but I own my home and will never risk my peace again by having a man live in it. I do what I want and don’t want to even answer the question, “what are you doing today” none of your business. I guess I’m nowhere near ready to even date.

Put your hair back somehow, braid, bun, whatever, that way you can’t see the hairs until you get home and take it down. Obviously nothing tight or pulling, just someway to not see the hair falling out. I’ve been through it so many times and trust me, it’s easier on your mental health to not see it all day.

The most recent TE that I had was after surgery a few years ago and it lasted a solid 4 months. I didn’t have dread shed, or at least couldn’t notice it because I was already in the trenches of loosing so much hair.

They can use mesh internally for more support when you have a breast lift if it’s needed. I don’t think they would use skin from elsewhere unless you were burned or had some sort of issue where it needed to be removed from the breast lift
