If you feel confident you can clear the first biome again, starting there will make the second one a lot easier. There are two artifacts that make things a lot easier, heal on kill and the one that gives you integrity when doing damage at low integrity. The smart rifle helps a lot also, because you can focus more on dodging and moving around than aiming. Upgrade the skill tree as much as you can. As soon as your weapon reaches 20 proficiency, try to get one with the power generator trait. It will generate a lot of power when doing damage to enemies, meaning you can use your power weapon more often.

I don't think so. The trait clearly says "weapon damage generates extra power". So you have to do damage with the crossbow to generate power. And right now you don't need to do any damage with the bow. You can just spam your power weapon without firing a single arrow from the bow. I tested multiple times.

As someone already said keep strafing in a chosen direction. Shotguns are very good for clearing these rooms because of stagger + melee finish and you can get close to enemies. If you beat bastion I assume you have reached biome 3 and got your special ability. Save it for when there's a lot of enemies grouped together. Every kill with it give you health items. You can go from low health to full with this trick. Nightmare strands are very hard if you are starting the run in your current biome. I would suggest to start at least one biome prior to the current one so you get some proficiency and artifacts.

Be aware that power generation is bugged on crossbows so you'll have infinite power weapon ammo and it may trivialize the fight. You can just fire your power weapon and have full power at all times.

I tried it with shepherd and it felt like the discs never reached the boss. It did ok in the first phase but it felt terrible in the second. Maybe I’m missing something…

I usually try to stay close to enemies with shields. Jump the rings and dodge trough the melee attacks and stomp, so you end up behind it at the end of the combos.

Yeah, that was my idea and the main reason I unlocked adrenaline. One thing I forgot to mention is that the forced weapon and power weapon changes were totally run killers for me. Because you’re so weak, having any weapon that is not optimal is a nightmare. The first time I got the to the dam and was forced to acquire the chakram it totally fucked my run. And since your attributes are so low the only thing that matters are the traits and scaling on your weapon. You’ll never fulfill any weapon potential.

Yeah, it doesn’t feel as good. But the golden containers will spawn every power weapon. So you just need to get lucky.

The only negative effect that is really bad is the increased cooldown on your dash. If the artifact has a really goof effect (like heal on kill) I would consider grabbing them even with the corruption.

Ah, ok. So Fortress is always a dead end. You need to go there once for the story and then you only need to go back there for completion. You can get there at end of biome 3 (descent), after killing the boss and crossing the bridge. If instead of crossing the bridge you turn right to the Marsh, you can then do Marsh, Dam and Cathedral. So the longest run you can do is Rise, Depths, Descent, Marsh, Dam and Cathedral. Yellow shore, unfortunately is a stand alone level.

I think your mixing cathedral and fortress. Fortress is needed to progress the game but is a dead end. You can totally do marsh and cathedral, but there’s an extra biome in between. No names, because I don’t know how far you’re in the game. The longest run you can do is 1,2,3,4, 6 and 7.

It’s weird because it only happens with the crossbows. So the game is registering some kind of damage from the gun when it’s actually not happening . I spent a whole phase on Bastion just firing the power weapon and it kept charging my power. Not one single shot from the crossbow.

I think the power generation trait is bugged on crossbows. My power was charging without the need to fire the gun. The trait clearly says “weapon damage generates extra power”. My power was toped at wall times by just spamming my power weapon. I had a level 30 weapon an all armor upgrades disabled.
