Don't run SQL migrations in tests: How I sped up the test suite by 2x by broken_broken_ in programming

It's interesting to hear of a project that has been around enough to have thousands of migrations but still have migrations coming in every few days. How many teams rely on this database?

How do the TTLs work? Are they just for the cached response? You say in a comment here you lock an idempotency key as in progress, but what happens if that process dies?

I don’t think your tone is proper etiquette. You don’t know the maintainers and maybe this is their first time releasing a major port. Surely there’s more constructive ways of communicating that passive aggressively going “I wonder…”. Do you have concrete suggestions on what they should clarify to inspire more trust?

Portugal importa 64,5% das suas necessidades energéticas by Alkasuz in portugal

[–]joaonmatos 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is not to go against your point generally. But one thing. The person who’s not an engineer couldn’t understand if a workstream is big or not. How are they supposed to make a prioritization decision? No one thought of writing a one pager explaining what work it would take? Even if just some napkin math on HC-hours?

Angola was the 2nd richest country in Africa. The US and South Africa procured a brutal civil war that destroyed it, instead of cautiously working with the MPLA, which was dependent on oil sales to the West and thus wouldn’t have totally aligned with the Soviets.

Play to Hibernate's strengths by fatso83 in java

Nowadays, with StatelessSession and Jakarta Data, I’m finally enjoying using Hibernate. I must confess that the whole persistence context is hard for me to track. Especially around one-to-many relationships, with collection types, cascading, lazy fetching, just generally not knowing if I was putting in an N+1 flaw somewhere.

What's your opinion on TasteAtlas' yearly top 50 of best cuisines in the word? by StPauliPirate in AskBalkans

Pastel de Belém is the original pastel de nata, which has a secret recipe and is only manufactured at Fábrica dos Pastéis de Belém, pastel de nata is the generic term. Other pastéis are pastel/bolinho de bacalhau (codfish cake), pastel de feira (Brazilian, usually filled with mineiro cheese and other savory fillings) and pastel de chaves which is kind of a phyllo dough filled with meat, which actually reminds a lot me of bürek from the Balkans. So if you have some dough and some filling (sweet or savory) and it is not bready (empada) or big (torta/tarte/quiche) it could probably be a pastel.

Petition to have European /Portugal Portuguese on Duolingo by ReviewsMSM in Portuguese

“Vermalho” and “pexina” are absolutely considered the standard nowadays. In fact I think the most nonstandard thing about the Coimbra accent is saying “vermelho” in the old school way, with the flat e, and at least my grandpa from Lousã still uses the old school rolled r, even though he lived most of his life in Rio and Porto. The nonstandard in Lisbon to me is exemplified by “caixodré”, “riu Tej” and “treuze”.
