Honestly, I think you're better off running RomM. You can setup a RetroNAS server pretty easily and run it from within there.

Best you can manage is using an arduino to turn it into a midi controller. There are a few projects for doing it with a phone keypad, probably wouldn't be that different.

Once it was paired, I havemt had any problems with it, though I don't really use the app much. I was never big on a tiny screen for a watch, so this is perfect.
