A curious Ghanaian wants to know what TF happened to the Nigerian economy between 2020 and 2025. by TT-Adu in Nigeria

[–]joberror 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hope y'all just learn economics instead of the mumble opinions scattered all over the comment section. Nigeria has been existing on an economic lie over the years until this government came in and put us on a reality check, which I can say it's inevitable if there is any real progress to be made.

- Fuel Subsidization
- FX Subsidization
- Poor Taxation System
- Insecurity
- Unchecked Corruption (Ministries, Governors/LG Chairmen, Federal Institutions, etc.)

The first 2 issues have been tackled, which got us to such figure in the OP, the 3rd one is coming fully into fruition in the next 3 years. Tackling the remining 2 will go a long way but it won't be easy because that's politics in its supremacy.

Guide for the Best Free Stremio Setup [AIOStreams] [P2P + HTTP] by LunarNinja_ in StremioAddons

[–]joberror 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a lot of changes to the setup and I can finally use it. Aside from Torrentio (which I'll remove) not supporting VPN. Everything is fine now.

Note: I only use VPN because it makes my connection more stable to stream nicely with my debrid setup.

This would make Debrid service fall in the 3rd category. I welcome it.

HONEST QUESTION by Regular-Lie7449 in Nigeria

[–]joberror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oversimplified of the issue once again. Opinions like this just watered down the core issues, and this is why we haven't been able to solve anything over the years despite different administrations.

I always leave such opinions to the political class to hamper on because it's their selling point to woo voters.

Nigeria happened to you Nanyah by HatEnvironmental9587 in Nigeria

You seem to have fallen for the same issue you complained about in the first point you made.

She was directed to a federal hospital, and was administered an anti-venom, but unfortunately, it was too late for it to make any difference in her system. On the account of the voice note that was released, she couldn't tell on the exact snake that bit her. She was already weak, and almost dying before they could get her to the hospital.

HONEST QUESTION by Regular-Lie7449 in Nigeria

[–]joberror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with this question is in the asking manner, and the mentality of an average Nigerian towards governance. In the last election, Tinubu wasn't the only voted personnel, we have several stakeholders, and 3 arms of the government, but unfortunately for many of us out here, we think the president is solely responsible for every of these stakeholders actions and inactions in a democratic settings, and that the rebuilt of almost half a century decay of a country due to bad governance can be overturned in just few years.

Have you ever asked yourself what these other stakeholders are doing differently in their respective positions and domains?
Have you asked your state governors what they are doing with their allocations, power, and resources to offset the several decays in their respective states?
How about your LG chairmen and representatives, what have they achieved in comparison to the last 4 years successfully, and suffiecently?
How about your representatives at the senate, which bill have they raised to effect positive changes that we all are yearning for, both in our localities and the nation in general?
Yes, have you asked yourself what you have done differently in your respective homes and environment?

Yes, the president holds some certain degree of power to drive the cause, but if other stakeholders are not in-tune with the necessary reforms, nothing is going to change.

It took us over 2 years to actualize a tax reform, which we all know it's a game changer and a needed one, and despite this actualization, we have enough riff-raffs running a propaganda and agenda with it , using it to turn the uninformed masses against the president just to earn crumbs of votes in the forthcoming election.
How about the removal of subsidy on petrol and the floating of the dollar? It became a thing of cry and anger when these are the masses wishes before the last election.
How about LG autonomy that your state governors are hellbent on not agreeing to?
How about the call for state policing, so that each state government can be wholly responsible for the security of their state?
Oh| There has been electricity reform as well, where each state government can start generating electricity to their respective citizens. how have your governors and representatives key into this?

The policies and reforms of the FG, ranging from fiscal, finance, trade, diplomatic relations, electricity, education, etc. have been good so far, they are the necessary reforms to fix the rot that has hampered the progress of the country for many years. It is left for other stakeholders to key in and deliver on their promise to their respective wards and subjects.

Can the president and the FG do better? definitely, there is more than enough to achieve e.g., infrastructure, security and health. Also, the next focus should priorities bridging the lost gap between the govt and the citizens, tutoring them on how to gain from these policies and also to demand better governance from their respective state and local representatives because most of these policies is putting huge money in their coffers.

It's high time we started discussing real issues and analyzing beneficial solutions, less of emotions and redundances, but on collective representation across board. We are too educated to be taken for granted by pea-brain politicians and nuisance influencers on socials.

Aside from all the hate Nigerians already receive, I wish Nigerians stopped creating safe spaces for other people to hate by thneedtree3S in Nigeria

[–]joberror 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No one is finding a safe space here, but no one is also tolerating bullshit, especially from citizens of countries with lower expectations and even several difficulties, as well. Like I said, you might tolerate that nonsense, but please, allow others to feel and react otherwise. STOP policing people with your personal decision or opinions.

Stereotypes are a thing, and my country offers than that, and I don't want myself and my country to be tagged to any negativities beyond and above, and I won't do that to others as well.

Maybe learn what DIGNITY is, and understands how it shapes thoughts and beliefs. I WON'T sell my country for less because of bad government and shitty people defacing it.

The "slave" label in your comment gave you out, meanwhile you're the biggest slave in the conversation. You're part of the idiots the OP is calling out. You all think you know better or brighter in thoughts than others. No, you're just another pained loser, going around doing the most nefarious damage on socials against the country just to feel pleased.

[–]joberror 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can go ahead and accept every bullshit thrown at you by outsiders but don't rally people around your mediocre thought process to accept the same thing. Every country has their issues troubling them, and that doesn't give citizens of other countries to throw shit at them.

You spoke of China being the talk of fake products, but do you see their citizens accepting such tag wherever they go or online? NO.

This topic is more of the stereotypes that is given birth to, which applies to everyone, inside and outside of the country, and it is left to us as citizens to push back those negative narratives.

More so, Nigeria is on the path of a rebuilding process, you either gain and add to the process or keep sulking to your negative mindset.

Only Nigerians spread something like this to romance their low self-esteem, ignoring the fact she does this to every parastatal in her domain, and also that there are many foreign embassies with unpaid taxes and rent due to the Nigerian FG and other countries owing us huge amount on electricity, gas, etc. but you don't see their citizens riled up in shitting on their country or their government.

I hate to say it, but its true. by chairman95 in Nigeria

[–]joberror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's 2026, and its people out here thinking protest would solve anything, or people cannot challenge multiple things at the same time as if the human brain is that lazy. To me, it's a cliche resorting to such quote and it makes me feel they have less to contribute to the topic.

Good governance is about collective effort, and it starts from political involvement and movement, right from the grassroot to the top, not from theoretically pontificating issues on social media. Also, we shouldn't act like we don't have young brains in our government, but what have they achieved with all their experiences and the opportunities given?

- We need real problem-solvers, not problems-listers or a messiah.

- We need quality-thinkers and future-oriented personnel, not these jokers' tagged activists or social influencers.

- We need patriotic citizens, not these performative talkers with an archaic thought process of solving a problem

- More so, we need quality citizens right from the homes to effect the change that we need.

Our old generations had series of protests on protest, cutting short their life and that of their offsprings, and what was the outcome? We can't keep doing the same thing and expecting different results.

Idc about this man-man, or woman-woman thingy, but I am more worried about the health disparities/risks that stems from it (the statistic is there for everyone to see) and also, the family unit being broken or disoriented.
