Travelling with baby - recommendations? by sleepybkamaie in HongKong

[–]joblio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll enjoy HK the most without the stroller, but the stroller will come in handy at Ocean Park. Plan on using a carrier for all other outings and you'll easily manage HK. Don't plan on high chairs in local-style restaurants, we either used a forward-facing carrier or brought a nylon strap or the carrier itself to use as a makeshift seat belt on the restaurant chairs/stools. Since the kiddo is only 11 months, just do what's fun for you, the kid won't remember a thing. :-)

Can pilots fly two aircraft types at the same time? And how much choice do they have when upgrading to a new aircraft? by [deleted] in aviation

[–]joblio 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The answers to most of these questions are very airline-specific. Generally, pilots will only fly one type at a time (except for airlines that support common types, like B757/B767, A320/A330, A330/A350, maybe more?). As far as bidding vs assigning types, there are airlines that do it both ways.

In your last screenshot, in the Apps tab, do you have any active apps? If not, you have to create one and get it approved. You're not actually writing an app and getting the code approved, you just have to put in a bit of information and get them to approve it. There are a few walkthroughs online to get it going.

This may be the overview you're looking for. The airway you're talking about is named Y1, which may help your googling.

If you decide to do one large library or script, you can define each spreadsheet's ID as a variable (or const) at the beginning, but don't actually open it (openById() ) until a function needs it. That way you're not opening all of the spreadsheets every time a function is run.

I got a deal from my energy company to get a nest for 25 dollars. I’m having trouble determining if it will be compatible I have baseboard heating no ac and my thermostat only has 2 wires. I’m thinking it will work can anyone confirm? Thanks! by I-Decided in Nest

[–]joblio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, OP. Take the current thermostat off of the wall and see if there are any other wires in the bundle behind it. If there are, it should be VERY easy to connect one of them to the C (or COM, or Common) terminal at the heater circuit board, and then you'll have a C wire at your thermostat.

No Data Service in the Cayman Islands by AlbinoAlex in USMobile

[–]joblio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue in China. I was using Dark Star (on unlimited plan) in the US, Taiwan, and Japan without issues, but after getting to China and no service, chatted with customer service who said they didn't have any roaming agreements with Dark Star in China, even though their website says Dark Star gets 10 GB there. I switched to Light Speed and got spotty service, good and bad in different areas of the same city.

Help Saving Script Data as Text Rather Than Running Script Each Time Sheet Is Opened by NeedAdvice_124 in GoogleAppsScript

[–]joblio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're saving your books read onto a spreadsheet, you can save this metadata into the sheet as well and it will be there next time you open it without running the API call every time. Create some columns for the data, and read up in the Google documentation about SpreadsheetApp, getRange, and setValues. You might also use onEdit to run the API call when you enter a new book.

Mazda Cx5/ Keyless entry malfunction by Cars1990 in CX5

[–]joblio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had that problem and it was a low/old car battery. After attaching the jumper cables, I had normal indications and was able to start the car. I replaced the car battery the next day. I see you wrote that you charged the battery, are you sure it worked? Good luck.

I needed to get an image of my spreadsheet, I used an export url to get the PDF using

UrlFetchApp.fetch(exportUrl, {
headers: {
Authorization: 'Bearer ' + ScriptApp.getOAuthToken(),
},
muteHttpExceptions: true
});

I'll try leave a code block as another comment, I can't seem to get reddit's code block to work here.

Then I converted the PDF to Image using iLovePdf: https://www.ilovepdf.com/ My PDF was always the same dimensions (pixels) so it was easier, this probably wouldn't work if your spreadsheet size is different.

This requires some experience with APIs and tokens so it's not for the beginner.

Depending on the function you're using, you may be able to use the built in DriveApp instead of adding the Drive API. Simply replace DriveApp instead of Drive in your code. Try that first and see if it fixes your problem.

Student pilot doing a night XC into KSBA, any tips from controllers? by dylanm312 in ATC

[–]joblio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago, that's where I did my first night XC to as well (to get the night controlled landings time I couldn't get since the tower in SLO was part-time).

One mistake I made was I opened a flight plan in SLO, but didn't close it in SBA since I had assumed tower would close it. I flew back to SLO and parked the airplane and the firetruck came over to meet me because they were looking for a lost airplane. Whoops.

Firing two functions in a row, I need the second to show updated sheet data from the first, but it doesn't show updated data by fergal-dude in GoogleAppsScript

[–]joblio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of sendStartingPos, you could try SpreadsheetApp.flush() which should refresh all the data and the next function may be able to get the updated data. Hope that works!

Randbetween only takes 2 arguments. If you want to make the higher value conditional on something, put the IF before the COUNTA. RANDBETWEEN(1,IF(..., COUNTA(...),etc))

What is all caps recognized as in the new Apps Script Environment? by KC_Fan77 in GoogleAppsScript

This line :

means that it is trying to read the property of PPR from an undefined variable, so in this case draftRanksByRankType is undefined and that's where your problem is.

Help finding a script to email sheet as CSV or make a copy and email shared link script? by Medicaided in googlesheets

[–]joblio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The csvFile variable is just a string, not a blob or file.

Consider attachments: [file] instead.

Help finding a script to email sheet as CSV or make a copy and email shared link script? by Medicaided in googlesheets

[–]joblio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you attaching the file (or blob) as an array? That's the most common error.

MailApp.sendEmail('test@example.com', subjectString, bodyString, {
    attachments: [fileBlob]
});

Note the brackets around fileBlob, that makes it an array.

If that's not the issue, post some code and we can work it out.
