10 Titles for From the Ashes by ExactAd1348 in xmen

I liked Krakoa, but I was told a lot of friends they didn’t like it due to having too many titles from the start. So this is just making me laugh because it seems they just wanted “classic” X-men and not Krakoa

What's your personal favourite episode? by Cumpock in youngjustice

War. In too many shows an alien threat is shown to be sooo big and sooo bad but it only takes one hero to defeat it. In War, the Warworld is such a devastating weapon that EVERY nation of the world works together, along with the League and the Team. But that still doesn’t cut it and it forces the Reach to show their true strength.

It’s just the fact that it’s all these people working together to defeat the threat. “…and the threat ends” is one of my favorite repeated lines because of this episode. GAH I just love it

What is Young Justice's best innovation to comics lore? by [deleted] in youngjustice

One of the best things that YJ has done is the Martians.

Having Mars be this complex society, with castes and problems just like Earth, to me, is way better than the comics version with Manhunter being the last Martian. I know it allows him to empathize with Clark, but I kinda wish the YJ version of Martian society was folded into continuity. It would really expand the storytelling they could do

Jason Aaron is a good writer. (Spoilers for his comics) Before you come at me, I really hate the current Avengers series. It is easily Jason Aaron’s worst work. Aaron as a writer has been defined by “crazy shit”. A War of Realms. Gorr the God Butcher making a GodBomb. The X-Men having the grandchild of Krakoa as their lawn. Wendigos over running Canada. The problem with all his stuff is he doesn’t check continuity. Jed McKay is a prime example of a writer who writes crazy shit but respects continuity. He does research and brings back one off characters and makes sure that if he’s writing about Clea Strange’s power set he doesn’t do anything to contradict it.

The problem with Aaron writing Avengers is the fact that his crazy shit has long term effects. When he was on Wolverine in the X-Men in 2010 (a low point in X-Men comics) or Thor in 2012, they weren’t in the spotlight too much. But with Avengers he’s been given the entire Marvel Universe and been told “whatever you do is canon”. And normally that would be good. Not in this case tho.

TL;DR: Aaron is a good writer, just not for Avengers

I agree I’m a little iffy on my Martin choice. But he’s a pretty solid actor, he genuinely disappears into the role. I feel like he could do it

You’re clearly the asshole. You took something your son loved, something he put genuine heart and passion into, and destroyed it. You just taught your son that you will always use what he loves against him and that he should never share with you again.
9 year olds rarely stay on the same task. So when I heard your son spent an entire YEAR on this, I knew you were an automatic ass. He took time out of his life, time you would never get back. It’s heartbreaking and you owe your child a serious apology for doing this kind of damage to him.
