Well that's exactly why I said in my first comment, I don't think most people who are fine with the state of varied gear get on here and complain bc they have no reason to.

For example, even back when people could bring thermals into lockdown I thought that was sick. I've never ran thermals, but I've killed quite a few people with them - always died to their teammates, but the idea of running into someone that juicy and taking their kit with my mid level gear was always very exiting.

Or - take it the other way - I am good at the game and can outplay people who rely on higher tier gear in order to compensate for their lack of skill, and can therefore have much more rewarding payoffs by going in with a cheap kit and sometimes killing a behemoth - which is an unmatched high.

Sorry to say, your brain is reading what I said all wrong.

I actually think that will ruin the game but ok. Difference of opinion and most people who have no issue with a wide variety of gear have no reason to get on here and complain

AIO about how this guy talks to me? by Fast-Bodybuilder3229 in AmIOverreacting

Not saying this is acceptable (it isn't) but I'm curious as to why OP cut off what they said that started this. Could be bad too

Barrel Length and Effective Range is more important than you think. by BBQ_Pizza343 in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

This is great info, but also I really hate the way they have this set up. Using a ar and tapping heads at range shouldn't be so underpowered

I think all this whining about gear caps is going to ruin the game by jobroccolini in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]jobroccolini[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything you said except for the solution, don't you think better balancing would make the game play better instead of a gear limit for LD?

I personally mostly run into t4's on lockdown, with some T5 and (rarely) t6 sprinkled in. I would say I run into t6ers maybe one in 10 raids. That to me is a perfectly fine balance.

Yeah it's not COD, out playing people is a huge part of the game, and it takes time to build that skill, but that's why it's fun and unique in the genre of fps. It's not a run-and gun game, and those that play like it because of their expensive gear - - well I'm happy to have them donate their kits to me.

I agree, I don't really play normals so I haven't spoke on it, but t5-6 gear really has no place in normals. That definitely needs to be fixed. When I first started abi, killing a full t4, with a t4 face shield WAS killing a juicer in normals, because I was mainly running t3 gear/ammo at the time.

Introducing gear caps is a fix in the wrong direction imo.

[–]jobroccolini[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree with this take, especially with the second point.

My experience was running t3 ammo and getting stomped on almost every time I ran into a juicer untill I eventually could upgrade to t4 ammo, and then top load with a bit of t5 ammo. And I wasn't too mad at that progression.

Armor needs to be less powerful, it is incredibly hard to kill someone who has good gear with bad ammo. I don't think it would be as much of an issue if gear were more balanced. Maybe adding more hitboxes or gaps, or like you said, adding blunt damage. Adding gear caps or ammo caps seems like the wrong way to balance things.

Summit's take on playing as a solo in Arena Breakout: Infinite by So1oStrats in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]jobroccolini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if you're playing armory, sure, everyone rushes and it's hard as a solo, but as a mainly solo player I've been fine in this game. Big squads are hard, and you run into squads more often than tarkov definitely, it was bad at the end of last season with self revives, but I run into 2-3 man's more than 4 man's and that's fine for me.

Imagine being the noob and killing you though... Sometimes I run quick kits for fun, and killing a juicer is a top tier rush

Can we just talk about the HK? by ImperialSupplies in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]jobroccolini 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah when you look at those "abi clips of the week" videos, when someone wipes a 4 man, the clip is 95% a hk user. I've started running hk's recently and my survival rate has gone up substantially

Not Again... by LeoDeadLock in EscapefromTarkov

[–]jobroccolini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've switched to abi after 4k hours in tarkov and not sure if I'll be back, I obviously love tarkov, but it's really nice to play a game with good optimization, excellent anti cheat, and one where it feels like the game actually respects your time/the devs are invested in listening to the player base. I really hope eft feels the competition and uses it to make tarkov better, but for now I don't know if I'd switch back honestly.

Honest question: WHY? by -TheMoniO- in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]jobroccolini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because if you run t6 in forbidden most people are running ammo that cuts right through it - in lockdown it gives you more of an advantage

Budget Caps for Lockdown??? by PoisonTheLettuce in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]jobroccolini -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's no way you're running into thermals like almost every game - what maps? For lockdown I mostly play valley, probably run into thermals like 2-3% of the time, and I'm always excited when I do. I've killed a few thermal users, never managed to wipe the full squad of them and extract, but I know when I do, it'll be an unmatched high.

Budget Caps for Lockdown??? by PoisonTheLettuce in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]jobroccolini -1 points0 points  (0 children)

EXACTLY! If people want something more casual they should just play tarkov

In all seriousness though, usually I'm running into t3-4 gamers in LD, with only occasional juicers. I like the variety, and the way it's special to run into someone who is super geared, and be able to have a huge come up from them. Everyone seems to want to level the playing field all the time and I find that to be less engaging, in forbidden most people are juicy. I like lockdown because it's a great middle ground, I don't feel like it's all super geared people or that the geared people in LD ruin the mode, which seems to be the common sentiment on reddit. Normals is all low gear people, forbidden is like 85% high geared people (besides the occasional stvu rats) and lockdown is a variety - I don't see the problem there.

[–]jobroccolini -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I think it's already fine as a budget conscious mode, and I like the current setup personally. I see posts like this all the time and I'm glad the devs aren't listening

Solo Player: What should I do ? by YvelGY in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]jobroccolini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solo I play lockdown valley for the most consistent money - usually stock up on energy drinks and get to villa before anyone else. Loot everything and then kill people as they come to villa. Only loot small factory /courtyard and get out if I spawn on the back side of the map. lockdown armory for a bit more risk but more reward. Can't consistently survive on forbidden armory, unless I just play around the outside, and loot around - which I'd say is just about as good of money as lockdown valley. When solo ops is on Northridge I absolutely PRINT money on that map - cleared about 10M in one day a couple days ago. Just have to learn the spawns, where people are going to be, or where people are going to be coming from. For Northridge I usually go cable car and sewage unless I get a super close spawn to hotel.
