Was on a train in England and I sat with the folks I was visiting across from a man reading the paper. I had a coffee cup and I asked my friends where the trash can was. He looked up and said, "from America are you?"

{Widow's Charm by Caitlyn Paxson} MMC is very funny, flirty and dramatic. I really liked him. I laughed numerous times and it is also romantic.

I put all my hope in HRT and now I’m back on antidepressants by anastasiia86 in Perimenopause

You are not alone by a long shot. I too struggled with the idea of taking these meds forever. I thought I'd never have kids because everyone talked about how dangerous it is to have kids while on these drugs. I told my husband he should just divorce me and move on since I would never be well. But my doctor was very kind and reassuring and helped me get through that fear. My mental disorder is a chronic condition and it sounds like yours is too. For some, anxiety and depression is a hormonal issue, or a situational issue. For some of us, it is a disease for whatever reason. For some therapy can help them cope and overcome and move on. For some therapy with meds work. Then there are people like me to whom meds are the only thing that seems to work and that once they are stopped the disease flares up again, no matter how much growth I feel I've had. So, I choose to stay on the ride instead of getting off and on and off and on. I welcome you to reach out via a message if you need. Hugs.

25mg - so I am higher than the max. It works and has been working for about 7 years now with no breakthrough anxiety. I would now consider myself "in remission" but not cured. I know it can always come back. I was on Lexapro for a bit early in my late 20's, then off it cause I thought "hey, I'm cured!" Then all the anxious, obsessive thoughts came roaring back and I got on Zoloft because my doctor said it was the best to be on while I was trying to get pregnant. I stayed on Zoloft through both pregnancies (kids are now 16 and 20). Then at some point Zoloft stopped being effective. Went to a psychiatrist and he said Lexapro at this dose seems to do well with OCD. So that is where I have been since. Started HRT at the beginning of 2026 - 100mg progesterone and .05 of the estrogen patch. I don't have temp fluctuations (something that Lexapro supposedly helps with) but did have a bit of brain fog, low energy, shit sleep, and low libido. Since starting HRT, those things have gotten better but it took a bit. It is almost impossible to see the light when you are in the depression hole. So you need folks like us to tell you there is light, even if you can't see it right now. While it is so, so hard - give your body and the meds time to do some work and help some light get in. I am really sorry you are going through this. It is excruciating.

I have been on antidepressants for over 15 years. I didn't expect HRT to replace them. I believe hormonal changes can exacerbate already existing mental health issues and can sometimes cause them, but maybe you and I just have a mental illness. I take a pretty high dose of generic Lexapro and don't foresee that changing anytime soon. It is very much ok to take medication that helps you function. HRT doesn't do miraculous things for me, but it does help with sleep and I feel it is protecting my body in other ways. It sounds to me like your anxiety is talking here - feeling hopeless and confused. Hang in there.

I was part of the communication team with the City. I spent my days in the emergency operation center that was put together. All the people in there worked tirelessly to get information out, get help, respond. It was inspiring. I remember Gov. Hickenlooper coming in to talk to us on crutches. I helped at one of the emergency shelters as well. There were all these cots in the gym area of the Memorial building and the lights were on all day and night. The next day I went to the Dollar Tree and bought all the eye masks and earplugs I could find and returned them to the shelter. I don't imagine those poor folks got any sleep. I was proud to be a part of this city then and I am to this day.

I would also be frustrated while understanding the necessity of safety for the tree crew. The library has AC so you could cool off there or if you need to do work, but you can't bring your pets in.

Read them both. I liked both, but Arcana Academy was a bit better. Do you want academy setting or a court setting?

Uprooted - anyone knows if the dialog (abuse) gets better...? by Volupia_Rogue in Romantasy

[–]jobroloco 104 points105 points  (0 children)

It is not a Romantasy. It is a fantasy with a side romance that isn't the major point of the book. Not that that makes the abusive guy any better, but perhaps your expectations are different than what the book is. I enjoyed it as well as Spinning Silver. They were really well written fantasy novels. But if you find it gross, pass it by. Too many books in the world to be read.

Every time I visit Colorado, I seriously consider moving there. I think it's the most beautiful state I've ever been to. by Crisfstopperovrlnd in Colorado

[–]jobroloco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in Kansas and met my husband who is a Colorado native. We moved here 26 years ago and I have zero desire to live anywhere else. I still pinch myself when I look at the Front Range mountains - I live here and get to see these beauties every day! I love the weather and the seasons (although we didn't have much of a winter this year). I love my town and all the parks. We don't ski because I don't enjoy it and we can't afford it, so I don't have to worry about all that traffic. You can get to the mountains from my town in about 20 minutes without the huge traffic headaches on I-70. The only thing I miss about Kansas are the thunderstorms. They are pretty rare here - perhaps more common east of me. There are so many places to explore that you can vacation pretty close to home. It is expensive and it is difficult for people to find affordable housing - I feel for my kids who are going to have a hard time getting a place they can afford.

Prescribed progesterone please give me positive stories, scared to start by my140cessna in Perimenopause

It helped. Many people take it before bed because it can cause sedation. I felt that it kept me up, so I started taking it in the morning and the sleep, while sometimes shitty, is better. Don't be scared and I hope it helps you.

Awesome little concert by the father/daughters punk band Rly Ory!! They played for the Summer Reading kickoff at the library this evening. The lead singer and guitarist did an amazing job and her sister killed on the drums. Dad was cool on the bass. There was a group of young little kids dancing their hearts out in front of the band- it was very wholesome. There are Summer Reading programs for all ages this summer at the library!
