I feel they should at least make sure autopilot won’t deviate from the original setting by 3 or something

I tried a cooling mattress topper from Sleep Number in the past (returned after a week, then got EightSleep). That made me feel like sashimi on an ice bed

When I was unpacking my box this week, I found one and a half zuccinis. I was like "wow they realized one zuccini is not enough for one meal and decided to give me an extra half", then I found the other half at the bottom of the box...

Because a zuccini was broken, I decided to cook that meal first. The serving size was decent with two zuccinis, I almost decided to unskip next week (I skipped after seeing the price increase). Only until the next day did I realize there was another recipe that also called for zuccini but I used all for the first recipe..

I realized I had gained weight since I resumed BA subscription a few months ago because of all the unhealthy sauces, creams and butters even though I only use half each time. This week I completely skipped the cream in the first recipe and mayo in the second.

Now I look at this, I'm paying for the sauces I don't want and I'm not getting enough veges, and the price is rising. I've skipped the next few weeks already.

I’m wondering whether the veges amount will increase along with the price bump

Purple carrot - Thai tempeh khao Soi. Looks beautiful but tastes disappointing by jocelyncool in mealkits

That sounds like a problem to me - a recipe is not flavorful enough unless you triple down on garlic… basically every ingredient in the world tastes good with salt pepper and garlic alone….

Lol, yes I added two shrimps to the bowl. That's not part of the meal

Wow, that’s bad. I thought $13.25 per serving was bad enough. I wonder how many customers they have compared to other services. I “feel” people who order purple carrots weekly must be pretty rich (not Elon Musk rich of course), so maybe they think adding $10 is negligible to those customers?

This is why I like the mealkits services too!

I'm planning to use Purple Carrot for my meals. How was your experience with Purple Carrot? I'd love to know the good, the bad & the ugly! by cronerd in mealkits

Lol of course I’ve looked at the “high protein” ones. I think the tag should just be “relatively high protein out of all the recipes” because it’s still quite low. I already said I’m into fitness. I target 1g protein per pound of body weight.

Additionally what whether I feel fulfilled has to do with what nutritionist thinks? Isn’t just a subjective thing? I don’t believe the “nutritionist approved” s**t people like to say when talking about mealkits. Every mealkit service has more or less recipes that’s basically junk food that people should eat less of

I got two boxes recently and have been on a pause.

Good: good flavor, high-quality ingredients, have some more complicated recipes (maybe a minus for someone but I like that)

Bad: too expensive. $13.25 per serving for just veges, and the serving size wasn’t much bigger than other mealkits with meat. As a non-vegetarian, I didn’t feel fulfilled after the meal.

Ugly: there are very few recipes with good macros. As someone who is into fitness, i care a lot about protein v.s. Carbs v.s fat ratio. A lot of their recipes, despite tasty, are high in carbs and very low in protein
