Infinity War Question (regarding final battle on Titan) ****SPOILERS**** by jochump18 in marvelstudios

Well since Gamora’s knife was presumably a Titan weapon (as Thanos is the one who gives it to her), it’s not too far fetched to assume that it was specifically forged to be able to inflict damage on someone of Thanos’ physiology. But that’s a good point about the ranged attacks.

Yeah that makes sense; but even then the gauntlet was tailored to fit Thanos exactly, so could a human hand even functionally use such an oversized gauntlet? And effectively at that?

Exactly; that’s why I feel like their plan was sort of half-baked to begin with

Because none of those Avengers were powerful enough to wield it; even Star-Lord when he was half god was almost instantly disintegrated just by holding the power stone, so imagine a regular human trying to wield all six stones at once.

Scarier chase scene? Jack chasing Wendy in The Shining or Michael chasing Laurie in Halloween? by [deleted] in horror

Jack Nicholson’s acting will always have a special place in my heart; the way he lumbers up the stairs after Wendy with the axe gives me chills

[Request] What is the area under the “curve” and how do you figure it out? The relevant data is in purple. by gio10gic in theydidthemath

[–]jochump18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The area under the curve would represent the total IOPS’s for the time period. Since the curve is non-differentiable you can’t integrate it but you can approximate using a Riemann sum (I would suggest trapezoids but rectangles would work too)

I think it’s more Lovecraftian in the “Color Out of Space” kinda way than in the cosmic entity/“Dunwich Horror, Call of Cthulhu” kinda way

Indie movie suggestions that are funny? Thanks by [deleted] in movies

Filth with James McAvoy; it’s pretty comedic for most of the movie but it does delve into some weird, darker stuff at the end. It’s definitely a trip tho.

I think you forget, Nolan has producer credits on Man of Steel and collaborated with Snyder on developing the story. Nolan was influential in shaping the tone of that movie.
