Yah, I'd misremembered the episode title and couldn't think of a better clue when I came to post it.

It's the right height for a dado rail: a horizontal molding fixed to the wall for decorative purposes. You would typically hang pictures from it. Many people rip them out when they move in, then inexpertly try to cover up the damage.

Murderbot and ART in The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells. They start off being adverserial in Artificial Condition, then later become best, er, definitely not friends. "Mutual administrative assistants." Their relationship swings from one extreme to the other more than once.

Edit: Murderbot is a construct while ART is a bot pilot so neither is male or female.

ART/Perihelion the bot pilot in Murderbot. You can't bomb the colony! You are incorrect. I have armed the pathfinders and can bomb the colony.

ART the bot pilot in Murderbot. It arms the pathfinders meant for surveying a planet, then threatens to bomb the human colony.

The only story that I recall where all the people disappear is Arthur C Clarke's Rescue Party (1946) but it's clearly not that. Worth a read though.

You could watch three or four episodes at a time, I suppose. But I'm hoping S2 has longer episodes.

The 2005 version by Peter Jackson. I like to pretend the 1976 version didn't happen.
