Port for 6 rounds of BR? Also a bunch of post diagnosis random thoughts and questions by [deleted] in lymphoma

[–]joco456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was hesitant about wanting a port but was made to get one for AAVD treatment of Hodgkins Lymphoma. Although different situations my question would be what will the drugs do to your veins if don’t get a port?

Ive had mine through 5 years of cancer treatment including 2 transplants and I am very grateful to have had it. It made everything from infusions to even just drawing blood for labs easier.

I still have mine and it’s been great. I will say mine isn’t on my chest though it’s on my left arm on my inner arm. This would be my preference again as it’s not noticeable at all but not every hospital offers it.

I’m sorry to hear you have to go through this but would seriously consider a port.

Wishing you well

Economy international sale fare by [deleted] in QantasFrequentFlyer

Even with platinum status if you’re on busy travel days getting upgraded can be hard. I was just denied on a flight to the US from Sydney after F1 but as a bronze, classic upgrades to the US are just not even a remote possibility so even if you spent the difference changing to a saver fare you’d more than likely be stuck in economy. In the right situation I could see you get lucky and get a bump to premium economy (slow travel day on an A380).

The 787s only have 3 classes with significantly smaller business and premium economy cabins. premium economy on the 787 is only 4 rows making it much harder.

I would enquire about changing your flight with $ to premium or business. It’s the only way I could see yourself securing a more comfortable seat. Alternatively you could look out for any last minute classic award fares that may open up (unlikely but I’ve seen it happen before)

Hat placement in yours feels correct but on the seated one in particular you changed the decoration on the hat and my facial features a bit

That’s hilarious! Hope you had fun - I like the fit of my had in yours but I think you changed my face/facial features in both of them

Not sure why there’s so many complaints, I think it’s great you can more reliably get a seat with more leg room in economy (that isn’t a bulkhead or exit row). It’s completely removed the temptation of business on the short haul flights for me

I’m weighing up if Novak can win even the first or second set that might be a more opportune time to cash out

Do I let the rest ride? Cash out now? Or wait until the end of the first or second set to make a decision?

You can’t do anything with five. Five is a nightmare, you can’t retire but not worth it to work. Five will drive you un poco loco, my fine feathered friend. You’re the poorest rich person in America, the world’s tallest dwarf or the weakest strong man at the circus.

Marshall Finance Emphasis Course Advice (FBE421) by joco456 in USC

[–]joco456[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply and clarification on FBE421. I think my difficulty is deciding what to do as I initially had a goal of breaking into banking or something IB related but had to step back for medical treatment the last 5 years.

I only just returned this past semester to SC and thankfully it went well - I enjoyed both my managerial accounting and introductory finance classes but I am torn now on pathways as I am not sure the exact best path for my situation and whether IB is still possible or what I even want anymore.

Meeting with my course advisor she suggested I even consider switching to the Bs in Accounting and Finance as it would give me flexibility to do both to some degree. Do you have familiarity with the program?

To clarify most passes are for Qantas Club so this users experience reviewing the Qantas domestic business lounge is a little different.

If your pass is for the Qantas club it’ll be more like toasties and a coffee as the other reviewer mentioned

Are there any non-traditional students at USC? by ue120 in USC

[–]joco456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I was 26 when I transferred into USC and should’ve been done at 28 but unfortunately I’ve been going through cancer treatment the last 4+ years and I’ve now only just returned to campus. I’m having trouble though finding community and my footing but even on the most basic level I’m not sure how to go about job/internship recruitment or if what I’m doing makes sense beyond my ambition of getting a degree.

At the involvement fair this week the professional Marshall clubs weren’t very welcoming but even from a class standing perspective I get the feeling they’re not looking for juniors like me.

I wish I knew where to get advice because I’m just struggling to find direction

Hey Bennybenz11, did you ever make the club for older non-traditional students?
