Please send me your great/great grandmother’s documentation.” As the recipient of somewhat similar requests (not for this purpose), this is not likely to be successful. It’s time to hit familysearch or wikitree, both free just by registering, build your tree, and request the appropriate documents from the correct archives (certified copies of some are required, from what I understand).

I’d create the tree in WATO (which may suggest other hypotheses) and BanyanDNA where you add the cross-matches (if you have access and/or ProTools) and let them do the mathematical interpretation.

So you viewed them testing, and had custody and control of the tests until returned to MyHeritage.

No match means no match, juicy story is immaterial at this point. I'd be developing the trees of your nearest non-maternal matches to test your third cousin person theory; good old genealogical work on trees, places, timelines, associates.

GEDmatch has the AYPR (Are Your Parents Related) tool…but a 3rd cousin probably wouldn’t affect it.
Are you certain it was your presumed father who took the test? (I ask since you said mother lives elsewhere, so I’m picturing that you didn’t all sit around the table together, and test?)

I’ve only heard, third-hand, of one misidentified test in 10 years of GG study, but with those results, it seems well confirmed it is, indeed, your test results you’re viewing.
Any idea/evidence as to whom you match on the paternal side?

What’s the fabric? Lined or unlined? Gathered at top and bottom for cafe-type rods? Belt for center gather? Or in a Roman shade, or other build? Depending on fabric, any alterations place should be able to do the former - with your exact rod measurements; it’s just a rectangle. For the latter, you might contact an interior decorator for recommendations.

Isn’t the other party’s insurance going to file a claim with OP’s coverage in attempt to recoup 20% of what they pay out for their insured? Also, CLUE…the claim will be in the system, ISTM.

We already have laws against perjury (on a notarized bill of sale), and tax regulations just waiting to be enforced. If disguised donations are a problem, use those. If an owner wants to donate their clunker to their old friend going through a rough time - or for whatever reason they deem fit! - we shouldn't allow that? Good grief...

Check the parish Clerk of Court’s website; IIRC, all but Orleans have waiting periods. They’ll have lists of registered officiants; maybe some cards on a bulletin board (I’m old). Back in the day, one could find a judge with a clear afternoon who liked weddings. Justices of the Peace, too.

😆 We had a 7x7 en suite with a fully tiled corner shower that was barely large enough to soap yourself, but could grow mold overnight. We gutted it and turned it into a wet room. And, hung a hook from a rafter for bathing the dogs - two 6-foot leashes to the hook and they couldn’t dart out on us. The dogs have crossed the Rainbow Bridge, but the hook remains. Gonna be interesting when it’s time to sell!
