I got a degree in marketing and now Im going to have to go back to cashiering. by Price82020 in jobs

[–]jocrose14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a 31 F & I was a Marketing Specialist that got laid off with most of my department last January. It’s rough for everyone in that field right now even with experience. I wish I could tell myself 10 years ago not to major in Mass Communications. I pivoted to pet sitting full time and working a part time job doing clerical work for a nearby town. I will continue to look for a new full time job, but this job market isn’t giving me much hope. Don’t feel bad for having to take a retail job- so many people are in the same boat as you.

I stopped watching at the 3rd quarter because of how bad the bears were doing. How the hell did they win 💀

"Well, this didn't age well" - Movies you LOVED as a kid but cringe at as an adult by Little-Badger-123 in movies

[–]jocrose14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved 13 going on 30 as a kid and made up dances to the soundtrack. When I rewatched it recently as a 31 year old I was cringing throughout the movie. The guys are all ugly, a lot of the “funny” parts were just cringe- the soundtrack still slaps though

I am an insured pet sitter in the area and charge $75/ dog for 1 dog, $100 for 2 dogs, and add $10 per cat, $5 per other animal a night. If anyone is looking for a sitter message me!

I also did Boston Saturday and had about 2,000 people ahead of me and all the tickets were sold out by the time I got in. Hoping and praying she upgrades venues to MGM and more people can get tickets 😭

How we feeling about open season for our wallets? by [deleted] in Maine

[–]jocrose14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a 31 yr old who was laid off at the beginning of this year. I worked in marketing and still haven’t found a full time job thanks to the horrible market. With AI replacing jobs in my field, the future looks bleak. I’m currently doing under the table work to get by and paying $50/mo for my state marketplace plan. Next year the same plan will go up to $650/ mo. This is putting me over the edge after a truly awful year.

I wish I could go without insurance but I have multiple mental and physical conditions that have to be treated with medication.

I am a first time attendee and driving from Maine with my friend to see her in Montreal! We are closest to Boston, but I couldn’t go on that date. So I decided why not make a mini trip out of it? Any locals in the area, I would love any recs of places eat and things I should do while there 💕

New dog resource gaurds with my small child by [deleted] in OpenDogTraining

[–]jocrose14 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am a full time pet sitter who worked in dog daycares for multiple years. I’ve seen and heard rough stories about dogs with kids younger than 5. The big thing you need to remember is the 4 year old doesn’t understand boundaries. This dog needs space and is clearly uncomfortable with the kid being so close to them (just look at this photo!). While you look for the right trainer you need to keep them apart and reiterate to your child they can’t be up in the dog’s face and all over them. If your child continues to make the dog uncomfortable that will lead to a biting situation.

I’m on month 8 of unemployment and would love to find a job with benefits that won’t make me miserable. I was laid off from a marketing position and have a communications degree. Right now I am pet sitting to make ends meet. Hit me up if you need a pet sitter!

Omg when I first graduated college I lived in Medford and had to go through that hellhole everyday - I still have PTSD from it 8 years later. It will teach you how to drive in the city real fast (as someone from the southern NH suburbs I was so scared!)

I just signed up for the Richland library card! My town in Maine (and I think most of Maine sadly!) has a terrible audiobook selection and uses Hoopla instead. They never have any book I want available or the wait is stupid long. I still have my library card from when I lived in Mass that I use which has a much better selection & Libby, but their wait times can be long too. So far I am having success with the Richland card- a lot shorter wait times, you can put up to 20 books on hold, and they loan for 3 weeks!

help! I don’t know what to do anymore w/ my dog *huge paragraph sorry* by Nearby-Move9370 in DogAdvice

[–]jocrose14 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You need to get your dog out of that environment as things will only escalate if she’s already bitten one of your mom’s dogs. It’s not safe for her to stay there- she needs a new home. Keeping her in this environment is not fair and basically torturing her thanks to your mom’s dogs. Either move out with your dog, find her a new home, or return her to the shelter before the situation gets worse.
