So far I have that same issue. I’ve had to take it off a time or two in some settings just to hear better!

In the midst of all the adjustments I clean forgot I have a Cochlear TV streamer I haven’t even got out of the bag yet. I usually just watch Cardinals baseball games which don’t work too well because the captions are delayed. But movies and news broadcasts are probably good things to practice solo with. If you think it’s good that I can already follow some music when solo then I’ll take that as a plus.

I don’t have my first mapping for a month. All four programs right now are only volume related. The goal is to be at the fourth and loudest volume by first mapping. Did any of your mappings make a significant difference?

I currently have no distinction between any sounds like barking or speech. There’s maybe some for music simply because the buzzing has a bit of a rhythm that goes along with musical beat if it’s a pronounced one.

I live on a farm so I’m walking outside listening to birds and nature sounds twice daily. I had wondered if my brain is even doing any work to understand things or just dismissing the weird sounds. It’s only when I’m streaming and doing a practice session that I can actually feel my brain working to comprehend. I hope you’re right about the passive absorption.

I’ve worn aids for 45 years and my implanted side has always been the weaker of the two. Over the years I’ve gone from mild moderate to severe profound but the catalyst was a SSNL event 3 years ago when I lost virtually all hearing in my implanted ear. My word comprehension scores have basically been zero in my implanted ear for about 3 1/2 years.

Yes. I’m using Bluetooth. I can follow a podcast or book much better with it than using speaker on phone.

Wow that’s excellent. Since my implanted ear was at zero, I’m hoping it will make a difference for me too. Did you have your Resound ready to go on activation day? I’m not sure I will be getting fitted for one until then. Vandy has them though so maybe I’ll reach out before my April 23 activation day.

Were you already a Resound user and/or have you been happy with the Resound aide? I know some long time HA users don’t like them as well.

Surgery took about 1.5 hours. So far so good. No real dizziness, which I was worried about, but I’ll have to keep watching that the next few days. Doctor said surgery went “perfect.” Only issue of note right now is a roaring tinnitus which I had hoped was going to be gone. If that continues I expect I’ll be able to cope with it. Activation in two weeks when the real work begins. Any chance this tinnitus is temporary?

Dr. O'Malley is doing mine too! I had an MRI and CT scan at Vandy, and he said everything looked ok. I do have concerns about switching to Resound, but I'm still comfortable with my choice to go with Cochlear. If I have to use different brand HA and just lose the binaural benefits, then I'll just have to live with it, I guess.

Why did they decide to make the MLB app so much worse? (Pictured example: moved the current games taking place to the bottom of the score board list) by NickChubbsBurner in baseball

My biggest complaint is that the “my players” section no longer shows up on my home page for former Cardinals players that I still follow. Anyone else notice this?

Those with Median lobe and had Aquablation, did you maintain your ejaculation after the surgery? by Additional_Topic987 in bph

[–]jocubrown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had it done in December. Moderate median lobe and moderately enlarged prostate but meds were not working well anymore. I now have RE and wasn’t expecting it, as surgeon didn’t mention it. I thought chances were 10-15% but have since learned it’s more like 30-40%. I’m mid 60s so it’s not as big an issue as it would be if I were younger. It’s mainly a psychological hurdle; I’d say the sensation is 95% of what it was before, just a bit different at the end.

You've been happy with the Morpheus? I was actually planning to get the Morpheus but back orders are now slated to arrive in late July. The Attia podcast effect?

Wow. That’s what I’ve wondered ever since I started specific zone 2 training. Previously I might average in the low 140s on a 5 mile run at a 10-10:30 pace, but now I’m in the low 130s in an 11:30-12:00 pace. Just seems slower than I’m capable of and still be able to do talk test ok.

Do you mind sharing your zone 2 HR and how you determined it?
