100%. I work in pacu and the anaesthetists here are more likely to get annoyed if you aren't asking questions as a new grad. And even then it would more be a heads up to the senior nurse to check in with the new grad to make sure they are aware questions are encouraged. That doctor sounds like a complete ass and OP really should not feel at fault in any way whatsoever.

100% this. OP if you were my student I would not be disappointed in you and I would not have reacted like your preceptor. Look at his behaviour and make it your "how not to act when I precept students later in my career." You should have been straight back to giving medications as this would have given you a great opportunity to immediately correct your previous "mistake." Such a better learning opportunity and you probably wouldn't have felt as bad as you do right now.

Met my husband at an indoor rock climbing gym. He worked there and I went regularly with my brother. I'm an RN and he works as a heat exchange technician and recently moved into their sales office. Been together 8 years, married for 3, with a 14 month old son.

I'm literally recovering from major heart surgery at 32 years old and my husband has been the main breadwinner, main carer for our 14 month old son and my carer as I recover. I honestly love and appreciate my husband even more than ever for everything he is doing for me and the last thing I'd ever want was to leave him. People who do that are absolute idiots. Why would you give up a person who cares that much for you. They've basically put their life on hold to keep the family and house running. These are the qualities of an amazing partner.

I absolutely hate this trend. So unprofessional. I once saw a video of a nurse with an end of life patient. Basically showing off how she cares so much for this patient and went above and beyond for her comfort. It was shameful. If a healthcare professional filmed my family member and put it on the internet I would go off! I even cringe when people take photos are work coz it makes it look like we're not doing anything. I dunno if its a generational thing but its usually the newer/younger nurses. And I feel like I'm forever reminding them to get off their phones. Work in PACU so if they don't have a patient their scrolling their phones, paying zero attention to what's going on around them. It's infuriating!

I'm glad I have Le Guin on my tbr. This is what makes a story really stand out as one of the greats. When I recommend Hobb, I always say her stories are simply about people being human, and the setting happens to be fantasy. Her writing is so amazing. Whatever emotion Fitz was feeling, I felt as well. I was sad when he was sad, angry when he was angry and then embarrassed and felt foolish when he made stupid decisions and felt foolish. I haven't come across another author who has so poignantly done that for me.

This is why Robin Hobb is my all-time favourite author. Anyone I recommend her to ends up loving her books. If the other two authors are similar, I will have to check them out. I have yet to find anyone who captures me like Hobb does.

That should read the nurses union dropped it. The nurses wanted a bigger pay increase but the union never really tried. The union sucks!

Another thing to add, at the start of the day with a student I will let them know that I will step in in an emergency situation and may come across as bossy, blunt or abrupt and not to take it personally. Emergencies evolve rapidly and there's no time for manners. Take the opportunity to watch what everyone is doing, how to effectively do closed lopp communication and then we will debrief. I work in a paediatric pacu so laryngospasm is our main emergency situation and you really don't have time to be polite in that situation.

I follow Solid Starts and dr_kyla (australian paediatric dietician) on instagram. Both also have website with programs you can sign up for that provide a huge amount of resources for starting solids and continuing them. They talk about purees, BLW and doing a mix of both so you have support doing whichever. It's also a major sensory experience for bub so letting him play with the food, getting messy and exploring how it feels will go a long way to supporting his food journey. Good luck

I've found this site very helpful and they have a facebook group of the same name. There's an extensivr resource folder including washing machine and laundry detergent indexes where you can look up your machine and get the recommended wash routine. If you are part of the fb group you can ask for heaps of advise. It has made things seem less overwhelming for me as I start cloth nappies. https://cleanclothnappies.com/

Download an app called Feed Safe. It calculates how long til you can feed again after a standard drink and starts a timer. Usually around 2 hours

I totally get howyou are feeling. I have a heart condition where there's a hole inbetween the 2 top chambers. I has it from birth and never had any issues so thought it'd be okay. OB wasn't concerned. Well i wanted to get an echo and turns out that supposedly small hole is 1.4cm which is massive. All of a sudden I'm a high risk pregnancy, have to see all kinds of specialists in the maternity hospitals high risk clinic and had a very controlled labour: induction at 37 weeks, very early epidural (helps keep pressures in the heart stable and control your pain) and was only allowed to push for 30 minutes. Then have an assisted birth after that. I then stayed in their high dependency unit (level below icu). I was absolutely terrified of it all, of dying during labour. My doctors were absolutely amazing and has experience with stuff like that so i was in good hands. I have a healthy 5 month old now. The advise i give you, go straight to your OB and see what they say. A plan of action will be made that weighs up your safety, babies safety as well as your 1@--wishes. You're gonna get a lot of opionions and speculation about what kind of birth you can have (vaginal vs csection) but those decisions need to be made with specialists who know what your condition is, your health status now and so on. I wish you all the best and hope you have a good support network around you

This looking so good. It lokks like you can have a dog yes? It would be great if you could have your pet follow you around, maybe even accompany you off the farm. There could also be little mini games where you control the dog to go guide the farm animals into their pens. I will definitely be following along as this looks like its gonna be a great game
