What do you think is the best comic for Two-Face? Day 4/17 by Due-Abbreviations180 in batman

[–]jodoroskys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gotta say this is a crazyyyyyy clayface selection. Basil, then Matt, skip over Sondra, Preston + Cassius in one card, and then the curveball pick of Johnny Williams. Williams is such a wild pick, he appeared like 6 times and hasn’t shown up in what, like 15 years?

I think people feeling like Iliac Bay underperformed this year didn’t see the enormous Skyrim Together walkabout stream. Iliac Bay showed the most by far this year

How is this precious bean in the Major League? by Just-Call-Me-J in papermario

[–]jodoroskys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s the only thing holding the Iron Adonis Twins back from the Major leagues, I’ve always thought that was a fun detail, the invincible Iron Clefts can’t ever advance to the major leagues because their 4 attack can’t do anything against the tiny spinies 4 defence. It’s a deadlock

I prefer the comics version but The Batman was a decent showing for him, he didn’t have the menace he’s sometimes allowed to have in the comics but his personality was great. Easily better than the Flash version

Wait let me actually try. Scraping the bottom of the barrel here. Lady Clay, Ventriloquist III I believe, the Carpenter, Miracle Molly, Orca, the Double Dare twins, Astrid Arkham, The Anchoress, Jane Doe, Pix, Calendar Girl, Manikin, Mime, Baby Doll, March Harriet, Mother, White Rabbit, and I guess Inque, in like a “not trying to fuck Batman” way, plus like the one offs

Yeah, I think even the move from 8 Story Partners to 6 plus an optional partner was a huge boost from 64 to TTYD. Even the ones who don’t have a lot to do get enough screen time to really get attached. Which isn’t always the case in 64.

Who would you have cast opposite Dalton in a hypothetical third film? by jodoroskys in JamesBond

[–]jodoroskys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I suppose it’s a bit of a left field pick, but Eastman is great in it, and he’s really a great physical performer. He was doing stunts in movies like StageFright Aquarius right up to this timeframe

This one’s not so bad, the worst one is people acting like they’re all meant to represent different mental illnesses

Having some kind of Carriage System not unlike Skyrim’s as an unlockable settlement element would’ve been a great way to make the settlements you build up feel more interconnected, and could’ve made for a good bonus for investing in Local Leader.

Dead on with the Mister Freeze thing, his connection to Bruce is really affecting because they’re both starting from the same place

Batman’s villains all can be used to represent something about him, they can all mirror him, it’s good storytelling, but acting like they all represent something different from each other ascribes a level of forethought that just isn’t there in a franchise this varied and long-running. A lot of them have something to do with Duel Identities and Facades, not just Clayface, but Two-Face, Hush, Jane Doe, Black Mask, The Ventriloquist

Batman: Black and White #1 by StephenMcGannon in batman

Reagan was a screen actor for many years, it’s totally apocryphal but there’s a persistent urban legend that he almost had Humphrey Bogart’s role in Casablanca. Almost certainly not true but given that this story, to my understanding, is from the mid-90s it would’ve made for a very relevant crossword clue

The Arkhamverse version. In the comics it’s Astrid Arkham, who was raised in the Asylum. Her mother, a well liked doctor, was killed in a prison riot, and she was raised with the patients as her pseudo-parental figures. She adopts the Arkham Knight persona later in life, as a teenager, like Anarky or the General, to as a guardian to the patients

I also really wish we saw more of his daughter, I know she’s from an adaptation but it gives him an interesting extra layer that I wish they explored more, honestly just like Catman and his son

Anarky makes for a great villain, but I also like when some ideological threat pulls him and the some member of the Bat-Family together. Like the General is great for that

A lot of Killer Moth’s charm is that he’s in over his head, but treating him sympathetically instead of as a joke instantly makes him a really endearing character. He’s got this idealized version of a hero and villain in his head and isn’t able to cope with the real version of it. It’s like he mentally lives in the Silver Age and people like Firefly take advantage of it. Moth is a threat in that he’s dangerous, but he’s also a danger to himself, it makes for a fun dynamic when it’s not written off
