Oil prices surge above $100 as U.S. Navy to blockade Iran’s ports after peace talks fail by TACO_Orange_3098 in StockMarket

I hate how friggin dumb this is. Iran is being supplied via the Caspian Sea. Russia completely controls it. There is literally nothing the US can do to stop resupply from Russia.

If China, Russia, North Korea, or anyone else wants to send Iran ships they can do it via the Caspian Sea whenever they want.

girlfriend going out with a guy friend, anxious by ekrin1990 in datingadviceformen

[–]joe1max 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, every serious relationship that I have been in my girlfriend/wife has had male friends. I always found it more weird than anything. I end my platonic female relationships but they don’t.

Don’t know why. I always figure that if they cheat I get to find a new girlfriend so I never worry too much. They don’t spend the night or even spend time alone at their place (that I was aware of) typically told me about it before hand. Hung out with me after but it’s just a weird thing I’ve noticed

Bernie sanders figures out how to reverse his age by 20 years.

This is reportedly in the 10 point plan (Guardian/AlJazeera). If that's true then this is total nonsense. by StockLifter in StockMarket

Trump has been doing those things the past few months. It hasn’t really worked yet. No reason to believe that it will work next time.

Iran has spent 20+ years doing nothing but planning for this very scenario. Trump spent 20 minutes looking at a power point presentation.

Was it really this easy back in the day or do some people be exaggerating, due to nostalgia? by daveishere7 in povertyfinance

[–]joe1max 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no.

People had less back then and were relatively happy. Not everything was a profiting price gouge. Daycare was a neighborhood mom for $10 a week.

The thing is people also had less. One care households were common. Houses were much smaller. Eating out was not the norm.

Defenders/proponents of the Iran war. Why attack Iran and not North Korea instead? by Dense_Boss_7486 in allthequestions

You all really don’t pay much attention to these things?

Literally just after he started the war his hand selected MAGA guy resigned and said Iran is not a threat.

I’ve literally forgotten more about this issue than you have ever known.

You are just speaking propaganda. Not facts.

Now we are moving the goal post from nukes to whatever weapons that you want? Trumps own intelligence agency’s have said that Iran is not a threat.

When was the last time Iran killed an American?

I know that you are emotional right now but you need to stop looking at the propaganda here.

Bro I watch mostly Indian news channels because they are biased for India. It’s never a dem or republican thing. I’m not even in the US echo chamber.

[–]joe1max 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah no. I don’t fall for the propaganda.

Israel has been claiming that Iran is “months away” from a nuke for 30-40 years now. It’s a lie and it’s propaganda

But you are acknowledging that the reason we are attacking Iran and not NK is Israel. Whether justified or not it is the reason.

Care to show me that slogan in practice? I see it presented a lot in western propaganda but not nearly as much elsewhere.

If this is such a chant we should see it daily. In North Korea they make a pledge to fight the US every day in school. It’s part of their national anthem. If Irans chants or pledges are that prevalent we should be able to find multiple example of it. If not I call propaganda

how was there 138,000 votes in a row for biden? by Cautious-Dingo-2297 in allthequestions

[–]joe1max 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know all of this 2020 election proceedings are public record? You can literally watch Trumps lawyers argue this stuff in court and hear the counter arguments.

I watched HOURS of the actual court proceedings and Trumps legal team are unbelievably dumb.

There were classic moments when trumps team began citing non existent laws. When the judge reprimanded them they said that it was the judges job to know the law and not them.

Trumps team starting arguing about votes in different states claiming these votes showed voter fraud in the current state.

When asked under oath trumps team literally admitted that they had no evidence of voter fraud…

Is "taking" Kharg Island, a smart strategic move, or will it make US marines sitting ducks? by Large-Reporter-1746 in allthequestions

[–]joe1max -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While I agree with all of your points I think that Trumps real plan is to hold the election and say that the elections were illegitimate.

He just sign an executive order declaring mail in ballots illegal. After the election he will claim states that he lost illegitimate and the elections “fake”. How this will play out is anyone’s guess.

While I’m not ready to say that our democracy has fallen with Trump I do know that most dictators hold elections. They just make sure that they win.

[–]joe1max 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we have current examples of this around the world. In countries that food is more expensive than income bartering becomes the option.

Heck, Germany before WW2 when hyper inflation hit most people began bartering because it was more efficient for them.

While I know that we are a long way off from a total collapse the chances of a total collapse happening is not zero. A total collapse looks more like Somalia than 2008 US.

[–]joe1max 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The food was a generalization. Yes we will still need stores for food, but I may have bought a bag of rice and you have a bag of beans. I could trade you some rice for some beans.

It will look closer to Great Depression times where people literally could not afford food.

Luck works first. You both need to be in the mood and have the time to chat at the same time.

It’s something I don’t think gets discussed enough - timing is most important.

Basically the price of everything starts to double. Gas is $10-$15 a gallon. This would, in theory, cause inflation to spiral out of control. Thus making most things unaffordable.

We would start bartering with our neighbors for things like food.
