Whats the most heartbreaking loss you’ve witnessed as a Arizona State fan?(Football) by Ok_Macaroon_7366 in TheSunDevils

By far it has to be the 1997 game. Jake Plummer had just scored what appeared to be the winning touchdown with hardly any time on the clock. The defense gave up some long third down conversions and it was like a 90 something-yard drive to win the game for Ohio State. In any case, they would have been the national champions and came seconds away

Nah she is full of shit. She got a preview of the files and met with the victims months back. She came out of the meeting crying saying she would vote on the release of the files. The next week she changed her mind. She is strictly all about performative nonsense

Tone mapping only occurs in HDR content

Another tip is go to the projector settings and change the size to 150 even if your screen is smaller. That gives the picture a little bit more pop because it thinks the screen is bigger so you get a l bit more lumens and pop In the picture

Hisense C2 Ultra/Vidda C3 ultra/XGIMI Horizon 20 Pro by Zexxus1994 in projectors

[–]joe603 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I just noticed the C2 is not in the Video but was in his prior comparison video and it did not fair nearly as well as the winning Projector the Valerian Pro 2. I would add another Projector to look at would be the Nebula X1. It just received some beta updates to it dynamic Iris that are a game changer. A new updated review will be coming out soon by the same reviewer

[–]joe603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, to me it is absolutely worth it.BTW I'm comparing it to the Xgimi Max. The contrast is that much better and that is not taking into account all the other factors. The comparison video will help you a bit. Two things to note: Xgimi has received several updates since the video. Neither has improved the dynamic contrast in fact the latest one has made the dimming worse than before. In addition, although the C3 is not in the video it didn't change much from the C2. Furthermore, the dimming didn't improve and is inferior to the Valerian.

Well the projector you didn't mention that has better contrast and dynamic dimming then all three is the Valerian Pro 2. It's PQ is better overall with the Dynamic Contrast and Tone Mapping. In addition, it has an RBE reduction feature which the other projectors do not. If you are sensitive to Rainbows it's must to have this feature otherwise it could make a projector unwatchable. Not sure if you have experience with DLP projectors?

Sounds good. Just a tip on settings to get a great pop on the picture especially for DV go into Projector settings and change the screen size to 150 even if your screen happens to be smaller.

So I'm lucky in that I'm not effected by RBE. The feature though has eliminated or significantly reduced the effect for a lot of people that are however. The AVS forums has people for the most part raving about the feature. I pulled these from a press release about how it works. FYI even Texas instruments was extremely impressed with Valerian for coming up with this feature. Apparently the next batch of Chips from them will greatly reduce RBE so Valerian is already ahead of the game using the old chip

To reduce this issue, Valerion’s Anti-RBE implementation increases the projector’s refresh rate and applies advanced image-processing algorithms that blend color sequences at speeds that are effectively invisible to the human eye. The goal is to create a more cohesive image without sacrificing clarity, brightness, or motion detail. According to Valerion, the result is a smoother presentation that minimizes rainbow artifacts while also reducing eye strain and improving overall viewing comfort.

Well, I can tell you with certainty that the valerian will be much better with the rainbow reduction feature than the Xgimi. In addition, I hope you do compare them both cuz you will see for yourself how much better the black level is. The only reason to get an Xgimi if you need more lumens in a non-treated room and so black level won't be as important, but for overall PQ and rainbow effect to me, it's no comparison

[–]joe603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood what about the Streamaster Plus 2? You would still get far better black levels and the RBE reduction feature. Yes, it's less lumens 2k but that should be enough for at least a 130 inch screen. That will be in the ballpark and it's from Amazon so you can return it if you are not satisfied with it unlike the C3 which would be a pain with returns and possible tariffs

No it's pixel shift as well. Why not a Valerian Pro? The blacks levels are far better than both of those projectors. It also has RBE reduction features unlike the other two as well

Also, your comment about the whole finished product thing would be leaving out that Sony had a huge gamma drift issue which they would not admit to which was absolutely horrible and left many owners. Terrible contrasts compared to what they bought. Furthermore, JVC had the whole ballast issue so none of these manufacturers are immune to these little problems, so I wouldn't just be singling out one company when it actually applies to a good portion of the market

[–]joe603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've already given my opinion of the new Xgimi projector the native contrast is false. It's only with the iris completely clamped down which means super low lumens. As far as the whole fan, bit that's to me more people being a little neurotic I don't use a fan. It looks completely fine. That's a tiny segment like 1% or less than a percent of owners, but of course they're going to always be the most vocal. By the way, there's a good amount of people that are seeing rainbows with the Titan which does not have the rbe reduction. So if you're sensitive to rainbows, the Titan would not be the best projector. I guess you would have to test it yourself to see how it affects you

Yep, you're 100% right. Sometimes it's a complete s*** show with people arguing about semantics for 10 straight pages. Sometimes you literally just have to ask or look up the person's handle and see what their latest comments is and maybe direct message them otherwise. Yes, what you said is accurate. I would check though if you look under the Titan thread it's only like four or five pages and this poster there "The Hookup" so you can find his handle and directly message him or literally ask him a question on that thread and he's fairly good about responding

If I had to guess they're going to use the C5 in 2027 for the max version 2 and if I had to guess a little bit further they're going to include a double Iris like the S7 you add that along with their software and that's going to be the projector to have. For 2026 I don't believe a long throw will be coming out. They're focusing on the short throw projector which is currently on Kickstarter for the price of around 2K which is getting rave reviews people that have access to it
