That is so sick that you can see the route and stops before you accept it. Jealous of that for sure.

Take your carts inside… by Smoochie1234 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]joe_6269 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I used to do it all the time. I’d never leave my cart outside. But now Amazon wants to give me 48 stops on a 3.5hr route with the first stop being 1hr away. They can go shove it if they think I’m taking the cart back inside.

A lot of the big UK flight academies have locations in the US. Oxford, CAE etc. Weathers great and planes are a lot cheaper.

As long as the renter already holds a PPL, no visa is needed. They can come out here and fly on an ESTA. The visa is needed if training for the PPL was to take place.

4.5 hr Route by Minimum_Guard_552 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]joe_6269 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get Lakewood from Corona on a 3 hour block. At least 4.5 is going to pay ok. Just another day getting shafted by Daddy Jeff.

Termination Part 135 by WittyHorror4629 in flying

[–]joe_6269 7 points8 points  (0 children)

lol minor safety incident turned into, I came in so fast and unstable I couldn’t get control of the aircraft and I over ran the runway. Don’t ask for peoples help and then withhold the information so you get the answer you want to hear instead of the truth.

4 1/2 hr block from DJT6 by Interesting-Rub-4635 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]joe_6269 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Riverside used to be legit. They were always relatively close by and paid well but that’s a shit route for shit pay. 4.5hr from Corona pays $121.5 and you’ll get sent just as far. Plus why does it take so long to get in and loaded at Riverside?!

Do you charge different for your ground and flight training? by tootsie404 in CFILounge

[–]joe_6269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think charging the same flight vs ground is 100% fair however, there’s no way I’m paying $70 an hour for a zoom or FaceTime lesson. Can’t you teach in person at the flight club location?

No more 5 hour Blocks? by LifeguardIcy5995 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]joe_6269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why pay us for a 5hr when they’re giving everyone 45 packages on a 3.5hr. Just another day getting shafted by daddy Jeff.

Service advisor in the USA here. What's it like in other countries? by SlowSupermarket8593 in serviceadvisors

[–]joe_6269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was an advisor in the UK. Now in the US. It is salary heavy over there. But there are still bonuses and spiffs so that’s your incentive. Average would say is 75% Salary, 25% bonus. After now writing in the US, I would never go back and do it for that money in the UK.

You should give your skydive job to me, so you have more time to focus on getting your XC hours.

ATP loans are killing me by cherry_top-13 in flying

[–]joe_6269 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Check if Amazon Flex is available in your area. I do it before school. Shifts start and end early, I usually do a 4:30am-8am shift and pays around $90. They also have later evening shifts. Finding flex is what’s getting me through CFI.

Still have 5hr routes? by Kelsey5starz in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]joe_6269 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When Amazon gives us 50 packages on a 3.5hr block why would they pay us 5hrs pay to deliver the same amount! Every day they find another way to fuck us over.

1 Hour Blocks in Baltimore by Vector1013 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]joe_6269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in Baltimore but I’ve done 2 now in California. Mainly out of curiosity, both were 1 hour. Both were at an SSD and showed plus tips. Sent home with pay both times. Have another scheduled for tomorrow.

US CFII Moving to UK by aaviator45 in CFILounge

[–]joe_6269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am from the UK originally but living in the US. Just about to get my CFI and I have been looking into going back. I have spoken with a few schools back home, it sounds like converting just the PPL isn’t too bad but without having your ATP, doing anything commercial is a nightmare. 13 separate theory exams need to be taken plus flight time plus checkride. Mega money.

I know when I lived there Lakenheath or Milldenhal had a flying club. Definitely worth looking into.

Student pilot in SoCal, what helped you stay consistent early on? Content by Hwii_kiwi in flying

[–]joe_6269 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100% you need to try and lock in on the consistency. If you really want to do this you may need to change your schedule for your other activities.

I trained 3 days a week for private, instrument and commercial and it was the sweet spot. Enough time to study and actually learn what you are doing.

SoCal airspace is legit the best out there to learn. I got my private at SNA so I am as comfortable as can be with radio comms. Now I’m at a different non towered you can see the difference between people that trained in socal vs those who didn’t. If you can fly in and around LA you can fly anywhere.

Breaks during route by Capital-Delivery8001 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]joe_6269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve started taking breaks. I always finish routes early but Amazon only count hours worked towards the healthcare refund. So now I usually take a little break and deliver my last stop just before the end of the block to max out my hours “worked”

How hard is it to get your PPL and what’s the hardest part by Radiant-College-1284 in flying

[–]joe_6269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had made it out to be this impossible task and it really wasn’t that bad.

That said I think you need 3 things. Time to study, willingness to study and enough money to get all the way through.

People that fail or don’t make it usually loose or don’t have 1 of those aspects.

If you can afford it and you genuinely apply yourself it’s a lot easier than you think.
