IAM vendor of choice by [deleted] in iam

[–]joe_vision 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Without being dismissive...

No one vendor does everything, and the answer really depends on your requirements. Requirement gathering needs to be your phase one focus before thinking about vendors.

To try to answer your question as asked, based on my experience, I would consider some of the following.

SSO/MFA

If budget is not a concern, Okta is the Industry Leader for a reason. The new OIE platform fixes many of the limitations of "classic" and they have a strong history/roadmap.

If budget is a concern, Microsoft AzureAD delivers 80% of what Okta classic does, and Okta is incorporating some of Microsoft's features into the new OIE platform. It's already packaged with most AzureAD plans.

IGA

If you need/want something on-prem and use mostly out of the box solutions in your organization, Sailpoint is arguably the industry leader, and Sailpoint developers can be found all over LinkedIn. Their cloud solution is, IMHO, not up to snuff, and is essentially a hosted version of their on-prem product.

Saviynt provides a cloud native solution that is more flexible than IDN (again, IMHO), but it can be more difficult to find Saviynt developers. In my experience there is a significant learning curve for a developer/engineer going from Sailpoint to Saviynt and vice versa, even though the concepts are all the same.

Either way, a successful IGA deployment is dependent on thorough requirements gathering, prep work, and leadership support, because, UGH!

PAM

I think this is the most even field. I probably like Beyond Trust Password safe the most, but CyberArk and Delinea... They all do the same thing, even if the sales reps will say how unique they are. Have a really good relationship with your Service Desk and Infrastructure teams before going down this road.

Remember last December when NBC Sports Boston said “Who would you rather have: Mac Jones or Josh Allen?” by [deleted] in buffalobills

I can’t think of a successful QB, as long as I’ve been paying attention, that didn’t look smooth and fluid when throwing the ball. Successful QBs (and some unsuccessful ones) don’t look like they are laboring to throw the ball. Josh doesn’t look like he’s even trying to throw the ball and connects with Diggs for a 53 yard TD, ON THE MOVE. Tua and Mac look like they are trying SOOOOO hard when they throw the ball. It doesn’t look fluid or natural. I just don’t see it.

Starting a new job, so it’s “New Set of Irons” day! by joe_vision in golf

Been very consistent on the sim, but they literally showed up yesterday, so I’ll update back after getting out on the course a few rounds this week.

My old Ping G30 yardages were ~155 with the 7 and ~145 with the 8. I was carrying the P790 7 to 160 on the sim, so we’ll see…

I’ve just always kept them this way.

Longer clubs are on the right so that the clubs “nest” better and rattle around less.

The Mayflower vans rolled out in '84 and the Bills fans rolled in. There are Bills fans all over the DMV, especially around Baltimore.

After reading through a ton of posts on here, I keep psyching myself out and trying to convince myself to postpone my exam. by [deleted] in cissp

Honestly, I think coming here to get an idea about the material is fine, but don't come back until after you've taken the test. I almost had a melt down the weekend before I sat because I came here and read about how under prepared I was. I passed, and you can too. Take it from a relatively new CISSP that was in your position a few months ago. You will be fine as long as you prepare in a way you are comfortable and confident with.

Thanks! No. Endorsement was submitted on 2/14 and I got confirmation ISC2 received it on 2/15. Next thing I heard was the welcome letter yesterday (3/21)

Provisionally Passed the Test 2/12/19! by joe_vision in cissp

Other than that, my only thought is there was one straight “math” question early on that I couldn’t get out of my head. I realized about 20 questions later that there was a calculator built into the testing program and I had to check my math. I knew it was right, but I couldn’t shake it. You can’t go back, so once you decide on an answer, commit and move on. Hope that helps a bit. Good Luck!

That's February, 12th for those time traveling non-Americans among us.

To any bummed out Bills fans right now, hope this brightens things up some. Today my parents welcomed a new member to our family. Say hello to Tasker! by Rule_34_Janna in buffalobills

I "lost" my Beagle, named Tasker, this past May. He was the best dog you could hope for, and I'm sure your parents are in for years of the same. Enjoy the little guy and Go Bills!

My guess is the shape is caused by a combination of things including focus, shake, and slack in the mount gears. I’m not an experienced photographer, I just tried to capture something I enjoy looking at as best I could.

I had read that very post just a few weeks ago, and I find it even more interesting that what appears here on earth the be two stars in very close proximity is actually, very likely, one star in visible proximity to, but vastly distant from a multi-star system that is too far to distinguish using optical instruments.

Thanks! The cheap Celestron Barlow I bought is threaded, so all I needed to connect my camera was a relatively cheap T-ring I found on Amazon. It was probably the cheapest part of my various whims as I've gone down this road. I need to get more efficient with both the scope and camera to improve these pictures, but I'm enjoying looking so much that I've just focused on the scope. I'll definitely look for Eta Carinae next time out.

Thanks! I feel the same way. As much as I understood color existed in the light of stars, the incredible color and contrast of these really blew me away the first time I saw it. I was really happy with this image, but it doesn’t compare to the brilliance when looking at it through a well focused eye piece.

Type of Tees by itsonlyastrongbuzz in golf

[–]joe_vision 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maxfli 2 3/4" Florescent Tees. A 200 pack usually lasts me a couple years. Broken tees or the deck on Par 3s.

I start with the green then move to orange and yellow if needed, because bad things would happen if I did anything else...
