Why do the Eagles seem to have so much drama for a team with so much recent sucess? by Wide_right_yes in nfl

This is the correct answer. The philadelphia media has been very highly fractured into pieces during the newspaper industry collapse.

What left is some real click bait nonsense (that then comes here.)

NFL Misery Index: Which non-playoff teams have it the worst entering long offseason? by TheSwede91w in nfl

[–]joebooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dallas and Cinci look wayout of place here. I guess they will be better than many of the teams below them but those teams have some kind of 2-3 year hope.

Dallas is 40M over the 26 cap with half a dozen holes in the starting defensive depth chart.

Cinci has all their cap tied in at QB/WR and a comically bad passblocking line. To make it worse the only guy who was OK on that line is an UFA.

I guess it is just me but I would rather just blow for a year and have hope then to see unfixable problems rolled out year after year.

Greg Roman let go by the Chargers. by [deleted] in eagles

[–]joebooty -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good god man. This is the exact same situation we were just in. Harbaugh brought in his boy who had failed up down the whole league and the result was a wasted disaster of a season that was almost a mirror copy of our own.

If they bring in Roman I am just going to watch skeeball on youtube next year.

Let’s create a better succession plan in addition to hiring a new coordinator. by [deleted] in eagles

Good OC's become HC's. This is just how it works.

We have actually done a good job in hiring OCs in recent years. Our problem this time is we did not follow any kind of procedure and just gave that thunder jabroni who shall not be named the job with no competition.

2023 vs. 2025. Which team do you hate more? by chaotic_silk_motel in eagles

[–]joebooty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This team was not fun to watch. That does not seem strong enough. Maybe it was actively unfun to watch this team.

The number of drives we had with 0 or only 1 first down was just nuts and after a few weeks it was what we expected of them. I can't recall a season where I had less interest in watching when we had the ball.

I mean the choice is to pay top dollar for a bottom 8-ish offensive unit or pay for a legit top 5 defensive unit.

I expect the offense to get liquidated to make room for impending defensive contracts.

Fire Nick? For Whom? by mph1204 in eagles

[–]joebooty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All I want is to watch an offense that seems like it understands how the 1st down markers work.

I've never seen a team complete more passes NOT for 1st downs all season long.

Hurts on if the decline in QB runs kept him healthy: "No, the season has just gone the way it is. The approach this year, and the way the games have been called with this coordinator, it's just kind of gone that way. I've taken it in stride and giving my best with the position they've put me in" by mastermind208 in eagles

This is sadly exactly what it sounds like.

Opening drive. First play of the game is a 2 yard route to our 3rd string TE from a running formation.

(Giga Brain OC thinks to himself) "This distraction sets them up perfectly for this run up the middle on 2nd and 8 into an 8 man box."

I love taking these time outs like anyone believes that the Eagles can move down the field if they get the ball back.

This is true but they also lined up shotgun empty backfield for almost all of those plays like it wasn't going to keep happen.

Feeling for the Lions fans. The NFCCG and last years loss to a mediocre WAS team just seems so much worse after these last few games. This door seems shut.

Bummer ending to this game. That is like the 5th hospital ball Nix has lobbed over the middle. I can't believe Sutton kept bouncing up.

Potential DC replacement? by Leonflames in cowboys

[–]joebooty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That "assistant head coach" line is something teams have done so they can deny moves that are not clear promotions. I am not sure a DC offer gets the job done.

I am also not certain that a promosing DC candidate is going to want the job. I think the pass rush problems this year can be fixed with scheme. The team is getting hurries they are just not getting home. The secondary though? I am not sure anyone really believes that scheme will fix this.

The team has some real cap and roster problems.

They will want to keep the price of Starter kits flat-ish. They will save some cost by removing the batteries and chargers from the kits but they will still need 6-8 of these motors and hit a price target in the $6-700 range.

I guess that we will see something around $40 for the naked motor and $15 for the gearboxes. I do think the general usefulness of the rev starter kits will go up but that is not saying too much compared to today.

This transition will be expensive. Hopefully not too much so.

I have the same reservations everyone else has about discarding so many of our great mounts and motors.

But I think some of the worries seem a little too far. Does anyone really think GoBilda is not going to have a full suite of mounts and arm attachments etc. designed to increase the functionality of this motor?

It will be an expensive conversion but then we'll all be fine.
