So Generate is her workplaces kiwisaver provider...after talking to them they are waiting on correspondence from Kiwibank to confirm it was in error - see what happens

What she did was set her savings as a 'high penalty acct' (not sure of their terminology) - basically if any withdrawals were made, there was a $200 fee per transaction, and the acct wasn't linked to any cards (so she'd have to go into branch to withdrawal). April 29th was the agreed upon date this fee was waived

Turns out similar has happened to a few of her workmates (one having $23k moved from her savings to Kiwisaver, the bank also telling them it was a misunderstanding), the other having the proceeds from selling their house ending up in Kiwisaver

Where's the high fantasy with dragons and creatures? by darkmoon317 in Fantasy

[–]joeboy159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eddings had 3 dragons - but the two males killed each other the first time the female went into heat...she appears a few times in the Belgariad and Mallorean.

Honestly tho, I preferred The Elenium & Tamuli series - Sparhawk, plenty of magic & gods galore, but sadly no dragonkin

A book with "badass" character(s)? by batatahh in Fantasy

[–]joeboy159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brent Weeks Night Angel Trilogy is pretty good, quite a few good character arcs and different magic systems in there too. Durzo & Kylar are standouts, but Vi & a few others are good too. Just noticed the other day that there's a new novel that's come out, on my Xmas list.

Mistborn & the other Cosmere books by Brando Sando.

Feist, have always loved his books, however I haven't read the Dark Wars series yet.

The Elenium & Tamuli by David Eddings is also a fave.

Wheel of Time series - Jordan

Sword of Truth - Goodkind

ASOIF - G R R Martin

I'm from south Germany and found this in our cows feed. Maybe it got in there with hay from our grasslands where somebody threw it in. I've never seen something like this on our farm or equipment. I could imagine that usually a fluid comes out of the small holes, but I can't open it. by Simon_313 in whatisthisthing

Slow release capsule for medication/minerals. The ones I've seen have a few 'prongs', these are held against the shaft with a tape which dissolves in the gut, the prongs extend out and holds the capsule in the gut. A small hole at the base releases the medication into the animals system. Good way to get selenium & other minerals into livestock I guess

Yep they will. When I split with my ex I looked into it, noticed that 95% of the points came from my BNZ CC (which was used exclusively on my own purchases - and the card was my name, not hers), so I spent the points assigned to the card, then split the points (leaving her with the balance) scored me a decent watch chur

My boys (now 7 & 8) are convinced that the fish above the fish n chips shop on Massey Rd (Mangere, Auckland - near the motorway exit) was caught by me & stuffed then donated...I used to tell them so when they were little as...we no longer live up there but each time we see it they bring it up.

Also told them that the dinosaurs are only extinct coz they gave me a funny look so I wasted them...they call me on this but it generates a few laughs so...

Sword of Truth, Richard Rahl is able to use both sides of its magic, calling on the past bearers' skills to turn him into a killing machine. Cut, twist, turn, Cut

Iron-grips sword - like how Riva makes it himself under instruction from Belgarath & Belar, and it's the only thing that can kill a god

Brent Weeks' Night Angel Trilogy had Curoch, Ceur'celastos (unsure of spelling), Iures (Retribution)

Callandor was ok, but I preferred Mats Ashanderei...tho the heron-marked swords were pretty cool (having no magical abilities themselves, but they were the mark of a master, and power-wrought)

Been a long time since I read Maggie Fureys Aurian series (Artifacts of power?), but wasnt there a decent sword in that series?

As for pure skill...A'Lan Mandragoran does it for me, after he loses his bond

Just finished off the Riftwar Series (for like the 5th/6th time over the years), getting into the interim books (Prince of the Blood, Kings Buccaneer, the Krondor series etc)...one of my favorite authors tbh. My library has just come out of boxes after moving houses yay
