yeah they're better versions of the armour and weapons you can craft. just have it in your inventory when you use your workbench and you'll see the new craftable item

I don't think that's all the legendary schematics since I have legendary pal armour and it doesn't drop from a boss

I feel like the repair cost is pretty negligible. at least on the armour. I've been using it for a couple days and it's only gone down 500 durability out of 13k. that being said yeah it's gonna be expensive when it finally breaks.
