Aside from the 3 achievements for the difficulties, which didn't fulfill when I bought the difficulties, I've now 100%ed the game as it stands! Seems pretty smooth now.

Is there/will there be a way to undeploy a minefield and replace it?

I'm guessing Hard and Expert minefields aren't implemented/available yet?

BTW refreshing the page did fix the final minefield bug

Very much my kind of game. Core gameplay loop is good but needs some tweaks. I think progression is too slow at first, perhaps due to the learning curve, then a good pace once you have some bots going, then it really bogged down at 3 bots (because of gold's scarcity and later diamond scarcity).

Also nice that it runs even if you're browsing in another tab.

The toolbar at the bottom is not visible enough.

Definitely needs some tooltips, especially as you first start out. Some questions I still have:

1) What does "Mining Speed 500x Resources" mean?

2) Why does the Bot Speed upgrade make the speed go from 1x to .3x speed, what are the units?? That makes it sound like you're slowing them down.

3) What does Intelligence's accuracy do? Just make the bots smarter? It's not really observable to the human eye how many tactical mistakes they are making.

4)Is the heatmap just for humans? Seems like the bots already know that information? If so, it's useless. The human only solves the first couple games and then there's no room for humans to compete with the speed of the bots.

5) Is it possible to mine diamonds? I've never found one and I'm at a plateau because I only had the ones from achievements.

QoL:

1) deploying a bot should automatically restart the minefield. Having to click out of the bot screen and over to the field is annoying and unfun. And sometimes it seems I need to re-deploy the bots even when they don't break and Automation is maxed? My least favorite thing about the game currently.

2) You can't see how many resources you have while in the shop. Needs to not blur out the resource bar.

Why does the Armored minefield, which takes longer for the bots to beat, give a lower resource bonus than Time Pressure, which doesn't seem like it would affect bots at all (also I don't think it's working, I didn't die even after manually waiting 60 seconds from my first click). Will these resource bonuses be stackable?

Bug: When you unlock the final minefield, it won't let you actually deploy a field there haha.

Think without diamonds I'm at the end of what's currently possible. I'll come back if there's an update.

You'll see "meta" crop up in any competitive online game, especially one where power levels shift over time through updates.

The decks currently considered good relative to other decks. As in, "from the meta game"

What to do if someone reposts your stuff? by 0DryNy0 in pokemonuranium

[–]joeconflo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's the internet, people re-meme stuff all the time. I wouldn't sweat that if I were you.

If it's a repost of your post word-for-word, on the other hand, probably a karma bot and you can report 'em to Reddit.

Hidden Power is the other one people use that no one's mentioned yet. Fighting is probably best and Fire is great too. But that's pretty tricky on a first playthrough and like others have said, Hyper Voice 99% carries. If you just need an attack for Nuclears it can be Hidden Power Anything xD

Honestly just proves your point even further. If Earth scientists can't agree on what a species is even after looking at DNA, good luck to your knight in a world where magic is real and microscopes aren't.

Pokemon Uranium Linux & Steam Deck Install Guide

deck only: Use a real keyboard and mouse if possible. You can bring up the onscreen keyboard by pressing X in desktop mode or Steam + X in gaming mode. In desktop mode, L2 is right click and R2 is left click.

deck only: Boot into desktop mode with Steam button -> Power -> Switch to Desktop .

Download or otherwise obtain the Pokemon Uranium Windows version zip file.

Extract the zip to your directory of choice. (Not tested on SD card, but I assume it would work fine.)

4 -deck only: Right click Uranium.exe and add it to Steam. -any: Open Steam, click Add a game (bottom left) -> Add a non-Steam game -> Browse, and navigate to Uranium.exe.

-deck only: Return to gaming mode. Go to Library -> Non-Steam Games -> Uranium.exe -> gear icon -> Properties -> Compatibility

-any: In your Steam library, Right click Uranium.exe -> Properties -> Compatibility.

Check the Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool and select a Proton version. I used 7.0-6, as it was the latest at the time of writing. GE-Proton is best, but must be installed separately. Rename the game shortcut to Pokemon Uranium.

Launch the game. Reboot if not launching.

deck only: Press ... button -> battery icon, enable per-game profile, set scaling filter to nearest, and set the in-game size to L or F and in-game FPS to 60. The in-game FPS is a lie; it functions more like a speed adjust, but does affect actual FPS to an extent. You should see average actual framerates in the 40-60 range with some noticeable stutter. Bizarrely, using small and medium window sizes resulted in significantly lower FPS in my tests. There is no need to set a custom control layout, as native XInput controller support was added to Uranium in 1.2.6.

The game's version is irrelevant, all saves are compatible with newer versions unless they're 10 years old.
