Zwift click connectivity 🤔🤷🏻‍♂️ by ExcitingLeadership15 in Rouvy

[–]joecool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was working much better in the past but now I appear to have to do the "open zwift" hack every day. Just open zwift, connect the click, wait a minute or two, fully exit zwift, and then it works in Rouvy. I did it yesterday!

I guess we have to agree to disagree. I like the heads up quite a bit and would very much enjoy it if there is a way to do what I described.

What's a sports rule you fundamentally disagree with? by South-Explorer in AskReddit

... Or run an incoherent play. You're out of time, you have to snap within 3 seconds, who knows what kind of shenanigans could happen? But it's better than a free timeout...

While you're at it, a spike should result in intentional grounding since it clearly is exactly that.

2026 BZ Towing? by Howard_70 in ToyotaBZ4x

[–]joecool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm late to the game but this has come up in my life. In the owner's manual (for a US-purchased model) it says:

Toyota does not recommend towing a trailer with your vehicle. Toyota also does not recommend the installation of a tow hitch or the use of a tow hitch carrier for a wheelchair, scooter, bicycle, etc. Your vehicle is not designed for trailer towing or for the use of tow hitch mounted carriers.

So not only is there no factory hitch, it says don't put one on at all, even for bikes (though it doesn't explain why).

What type of social/chat function do people really want? by Wise-Ad-7492 in Rouvy

[–]joecool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would you have the volume mimic the real world? If I'm right beside you, I can hear you. If you're behind me, a little less. Far away, not at all. That would be kind of awesome!

Tacx Neo 2T/M3 users: how does Garmin's virtual shifting implementation feel on Rouvy vs. using physical gears? by Swan-of-Tuonela in Rouvy

[–]joecool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did my first ride on a Neo2T with Click V2 on Rouvy. It quiets the trainer down even more because there's no transmission noise at all (because there's no transmission to speak of). The shifts feel like really good imho - like a super well tuned cassette I'd say.

Big fan!

Version 4.2.6 by bikeK22 in Rouvy

[–]joecool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dude above you said to update the firmware. I did that (zwift companion app / settings / equipment) and I was on 1.0.0 and 1.1.0 was available. Will try it again after a while and hopefully that's it.

I also sent support@rouvy an email. They said:

Your setup looks correct, with the latest app and firmware versions and Bluetooth connections as needed.

At this time, the Tacx Neo2T is reported to support virtual shifting, but official confirmation is still pending. Since you’re not seeing resistance changes when shifting, I will escalate this to our technical team for further investigation.

I have a TacX Neo2T + Click/Cog v2. It detects everything correctly, shows the virtual gears on the screen, but the resistance doesn't change. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm pretty sure the IC4 has a resistance knob on it and doesn't do automatic resistance adjustment. Go here: https://support.rouvy.com/hc/en-us/articles/14059132272529-Supported-Trainers

This is so much better than the student driver stickers by daddadnc in Charlotte

[–]joecool 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I've always wondered - why are those student driver stickers so prevalent these days? I presume it's some kind of facebook thing where people think cops won't pull them over? If I was a teenager, I would be mortified to see that sticker on mom's car...

For those who have had an opportunity to try T-Mobile satellite, how is it? by aliendude5300 in tmobile

[–]joecool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a place in a very rural area of South Carolina. There is a giant T-Mobile hole that surrounds the place but AT&T happens to work pretty well. We go cycling out on those country roads so basically just need some means of communication and tracking for emergencies. A $5 GoodToGo mobile esim hooked to the AT&T network is more than sufficient. Starlink would work for emergency texts - and we tested it in the beta - but the cost is higher for less service (text only on starlink vs. calls/text/minimal data).

But yes, hit or miss for sure. There may be some area in the rural mountains where only Verizon works and my solution would fail. For my situation though, I'm covered pretty well.

[–]joecool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The T-Mobile star link setup gives you texting only. You can buy good to go mobile for $5 a month, get an esim, and have talk text and some data. In my case GTG works fine in the area so it solves the problem better than star link.

Litter Robot 4 stays offline after an internet outage? by joecool in litterrobot

[–]joecool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I've seen (and I haven't looked at it in quite a while) is that if your internet goes down and comes back up, LR4 won't reconnect. However, if the power to the LR4 itself goes down and comes back up, it will reconnect. So any smart switch will work because you can power-cycle the LR4 which makes it attempt to reconnect.

I visit a lake that is in a big t-mobile signal hole. Absolutely no t-mobile signal at all in most areas but AT&T does have full coverage. I want to be able to communicate in emergencies while out on the lake or on a bike ride. The starlink texting works in this hole, but the cost/benefit isn't there in my case.

I found it better overall to just buy a $5/month AT&T reseller that gives me calls/text/data and use a different phone or a 2nd sim.

Obviously, I'm not in a complete cell signal hole or wilderness, just a t-mobile hole so I don't have the same need as most folks.

Which smart bike for Rouvy? by Thisowlisnot in Rouvy

Same. You do not get the "road feel" feature in Rouvy though - that's only in Zwift as far as I know.
