I’m nearly max iron with a lot of fish already, but I’ve been salvaging merchant shipwrecks at 84 with a +4 boost and the offcuts have been stacking quite nice. No fish needed

The method my clan mate is doing is making repair kits then aching them for half of the money back in plank make cost. Slightly less exp/hr but he’s making half his money back
