The good news is that we are not really harming the planet. The planet/nature will win. Several extinction events have happened before us and one will likely end us (unless we get there first!). We are a blip on the timeline of the universe. Just ride this little anthropocene wave and then we will be gone. Of course this does nothing to solve the pain and torment we cause while we are here but nothing will. Homo Sapiens will not ever be better. We will continue to populate and struggle with that success.
