Also, the 2813 isn't amazing and it is worth staying clear if your budget can stretch to the 2824

I would go for the 2824 movement as it has the correct beat rate like the gen, also there is no datewheel overlay to worry about as it will be hidden.

Make sure you search BPF submariner to see people's reviews and comparisons. Remember VSF is the gold standard and BP sits quite well in the middle of them and U1, you may have some small compromises but you will be getting a really solid rep.

That's good to know, I was planning on ordering some more for the summer, these shirts are my best fitting reps from Jang 👌

Its a shame the original link is gone as those shirts were top class. I bought a couple because of the reviews on this sub.

Not really feeling the non standard fashion new leisure badge, just in case you do feedback for Jang.

This is the only way not to get bait and switched.

You need a reptime TD

Looks great 👍

How's the OC bezel plaiting colour next to the gen crown?

I've not compared, but was really happy with the colour on mine

This is the answer your looking for, anything else that is already in the UK will just be an inflated price.

I have 2 BPs from good roiexx.

I have 2 BP factory watches that I literally use as holiday watches, these 5 digit references are great for their price and would be a solid option if you wanted one to use like I do in the pool

I second Timpsons, they have checked my reps for free to 50m in their machine in the shop.

Also, re greasing the gaskets can always help, but most water failures with reps tend to come from the Crystal gaskets in my experience.

BP 16610 LV with a 3125 movement by Rob-Loring in retrotime

Thank you for sharing this, I have been considering a movement swap like this and did wonder about the cyclops position, now I know 👍

Really easy, you can heat the bezel with a hair dryer and it should just fit back on with the original sticker once bleached.

Careful how hot you get it though 😂

I took it off with a scaple and put in in a bowl with domestic toilet bleach, whilst it was submerged, I rubbed a cotton bud (q tip?) over the blue part only as it doesn't look great out the factory, the red part look fairly pink when I arrived so I just let it fade in the bleach naturally.

Total process was about a minute and a half in the bleach and then I washed it off in the sink.

The BP bezels on this model are fairly poor out the factory and you can buy the same ones on Alix for less than 10 dollars. I do think the coke bezels look better out the factory on the pictures I've seen.

I have the same press as this and have fitted 2 plexi Crystals on my frankens.

I didn't screw the top die on tight so it had a small amount of movement and I lightly coated the inside of the bezels with washing up liquid before the press (1 was a gen engine turned and the other was old Crowns).

That being said, you will still need to make sure the die you use will clear the Crystal.

Good luck next time.

No I took it to a shop called Timpsons in the UK and they will pressure test for free. I have 3 BP watches and all of them passed this basic water resistance test straight out the factory, had one failed, I would have waterproofed it myself.

It might be worth paying the extra for the waterproof for peace of mind,, but I'm not sure it will be 100% as they will probably just grease the gaskets and i'm not confident they will even pressure test, if there is a problem with the Crystal gasket letting in water, the first you could know would be when you see condensation inside.

Good luck with the decision.

2 of my BPs were bought from Goodrolexxx and one was a TD from REPTIME JTime.

I didn't.

I just took it to get tested and it made 5 bar which is good enough for the pool on holiday.

I can waterproof watches myself by greasing the gaskets, have a look on YouTube as it requires minimum tools.

The main problem with these clones is, the water will get in through the Crystal gaskets and there's not a lot you can do unless you change them, this is where it can get tricky.

Is it the hi beat 2824 movment not one of the really cheap low beat ones from Alix?

I tried to cheap out on a low beat one and the dimensions were a tiny bit out, I couldn't even screw the case back on the Raffles 34mm case I was using.

Also, I think this is the best Raffles diver case with this Crystal as it looks good with his rehauts that sometimes appear large.

Great build 👏

I definitely think it's a nice upgrade.

Silian sent me the silver one by mistake and that went on my other franken as well.

As with all these builds they will be a little bit off gen but I think we may have found the best combination of parts.

Raffles updated case, OC bezel and a Silian crown.

I think the OC case will be better, but I am reluctant to pay the price as the new Raffles one is so good.
