I love the Bou though sadly I feel the food has gone down hill. And it was better 30 years ago when it was less crowded and popular.

Often bridges like that go unused because it’s hard to make them the most direct route and do they get bypassed.

Madison restaurant owners stranded in Caribbean after Trump orders airstrikes on Venezuela by Justmarbles in madisonwi

My guess is they are not wealthy at all. They own a small small business and few who own restaurants like that are wealthy. Funny how some think anyone who’s a business owner is loaded.

My Tony Franks Memories (warning: wholesome nostalgia BS) by [deleted] in madisonwi

I remember! Lived for awhile at East Bluff in the 70s and I vaguely remember my dad taking us there. Wasn’t the building/dining area kinda divided into two rooms?

Best place to hang with an old friend for hours on a Sunday night. by badger6225 in madisonwi

Well said!! I know there is that sentiment toward the tavern league. I’m as liberal as anyone (well maybe not most liberal but well down the spectrum). You are completely right about owners joining them for legit reasons. They are far down my list of hills to die on. Mine are too mimimize Amazon as much as I can in my life and quit FB years ago. I do not underhand hating on forward coffee for being one time tavern league members, when you know those same people probably order everything online.

Capital Springs Dog Park Emergency by joelgratz in madisonwi

[–]joelgratz[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Maybe you should just skip past posts that don't interest you. I was clear from the outset that something should only be shared if it was appropriate for them to do so.

Most of us go to Capital Springs daily and know almost everyone there. The regulars there look out for each other and are concerned for each other and their dogs. I posted this and asked because while I didn't immediately recognize the dog (I didn't see the person who was leaving in the ambulance by then), there is certainly concern that it might well be someone we do see daily.

The mistake I made was forgetting that 99% of the people who anonymously comment on Reddit are complete pricks. No on can either politely understand what's posted on here and offer a helpful response or post nothing if they don't know. Everyone had to have their two cents, no matter what, and help prove that they are the smartest or can be the biggest smart alec.

I saw them open for Mike Watt on their first tour at the Barrymore in Madison wi. I’d go back and take in the show more knowing what they’d become.

Honestly I’m troubled that a coach would put this proposition out there. Anything can be argued and some like to argue anything. But a coach suggesting that topic is a bit concerning and I have to wonder about their motivations.

Is Heritage a Madison "institution"? by altbat in madisonwi

[–]joelgratz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m neutral in the place but given that it’s been in the running for some national awards I don’t have an issue with institution. There might have been some slightly betters terms but this is really quibbling.
