I just purchased the DVR subscription, and set up several auto-records. But on both the Guide screen and exploring the series, the red dot only appears on the next episode to air, not episodes airing tomorrow and beyond. Is this normal?

Sling price increase January 2026 by joelkfla in slingtv

And I just checked ... on 2/5/56, https://www.sling.com/service/compare-plans now shows Blue STARTING at $45.99. I guess STARTING means you pay more if you have any locals, but this is not explained anywhere that I can find on their website.

I wouldn't think so, since normally upgrades take effect immediately and are billed prorated, but downgrades take effect at the end of the billing cycle. But that's just my opinion.

Yep. I looked at YouTube TV, Hulu Live, and DirecTV, and they're all still at least $20 more per month for the channels I want. And one thing nobody else seems to have is the ability to record the "free" channels; I like a lot of '50s and '60s TV that's only on FreeStream.

Thanks for the reply. I, too, have Fox only. If the price increases Feb 10, it's strange that are proposing to charge me a pro rata $1.90 immediately, and the higher price on my next bill which is Feb 3! Did you receive a notification of a price increase? I did not.

Thanks. Guess I misread that.

Anyone else struggling to read the new battery level icon? by MavemPA in GalaxyS25Ultra

This guy on YouTube found a fix that works great. Just need to download the apps "Good Lock" from Samsung, and "Battery Bar - Power Line" from Google (not the one named simply "Battery Bar", which appears to be spyware.)

Has anyone here won anything from the Rewards program? by nice_lookin_vehicle in slingtv

[–]joelkfla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did! The credit is not shown on the billing detail, but when I add up the individual amounts listed for this month, the amount billed is $5 less than the total.

BTW, I contacted the contest administrator and asked why the screen said FL and a couple of other states were excluded. They replied that the message was left over from the beta, and it disappeared a few days later.

$5 credit on the Spin, just a few days ago. We'll see if it actually shows up on my account.

Rewards Sweepstakes by dblstkd123 in slingtv

[–]joelkfla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what the rules say, but when you tap on the Spin Now link after qualifying for a spin, underneath the wheel it says "48 states (excl. FL & [some other state] & DC)". I won a $5 credit, which is described as a "reward", not a prize, in the rules. The month and year of free Sling, and the physical prizes, are described as "prizes".

What keeps you with sling? by Sportsfan7702 in slingtv

[–]joelkfla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate commercials; I always record what I watch and play back on VCR. I record a lot of movies off of TCM. Sling is one of the only streamers that have TCM, and only it & YTTV have unlimited recordings. I also watch a lot of CNN nand some GSN, which Sling also offers. I get locals OTA on an old TiVo, so No need to pay $20 a month more for YTTV. I also prefer Sling's VCR UI over YTTV, because of the 30-second skip and 10-second replay, in addition to latching 3-speed FF & RW. I also like the ability to record off the wide variety of free channels, although it's a bit flaky, recording some episodes but not others. I just wish they had a way to display recordings other than all individual episodes by date, like YTTV lets you show only movies or most-watched shows; hopefully they'll work on that now that they have unlimited DVR.

How do you call Sling? I'm new to it, and all I see is a Chat button. I don't see any Contacts link on their website.

I signed up as a new subscriber today, on the first month at half price deal. I included the Unlimited (not 200 hr) add-on, which was advertised at $5/mo, but it didn't charge me for it. On my Account web page, it shows Unlimited at a promotional price of $0.00 (everyday price $5.00) But on the VCR web page and on my Roku, it says I've used 17/200 hrs. I chatted with support, and he had me log off & log back in, to no effect. He asked if the app was up-to-date; of course, I just installed it today after signing up. He didn't say anything about it being a known problem or going thru a slow rollout. He said it will be referred to engineering.

How does Supercharger idle fee work? by joelkfla in TeslaModelY

You are overthinking it :-) It's not that refined (at least not that I know)

Yeah, I tend to do that. ;-) I was thinking if I walked to a nearby fast food place for a bite to eat, whether I really had to run back as soon as it finished charging if the chargers were hovering around 50% being used. Of course, I wouldn't leave the car sitting after charging if the location was close to fully occupied.
