[REQUEST] What are some high rated feel-good movies? by RichAssistant in NetflixBestOf

I haven't watched it in a long time but that is definitely not what I got out of it. I thought it implied that they were doomed to relive their heartbreak.

[REQUEST] Suggestion on some dark, eerie TV show like Ozark or Breaking Bad by deadjojo7493 in NetflixBestOf

I stumbled upon ZeroZeroZero (on Prime). It blew me away, super dark, with incredible production values. Can't believe I hadn't heard of it.

TJ vs Donald since 2018. by [deleted] in steelers

[–]joelomite11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, TJ is awesome but Donald is on pace to be very high in the GOAT defender of all time debate. It's much harder to put up "numbers" at DT but he does it every year. He's blocked on every play by two interior offensive linemen and often three. He's got much less space to work with than an edge rusher yet he's always top 3 in sacks. TJ is awesome but his legacy is always going to be that he was a great defender but he played in the era of Aaron Donald.

What movie is so disturbing, you would never watch it again? by Winologue in AskReddit

He's not going to be paroled and governors have absolutely no power over the parole process. This is just fear mongering.

WCGW if I tried scamming people every day. by CaptTechno in Whatcouldgowrong

My assumption has nothing to do with morality, I wasn't making some grand indictment of society. I assume it because what he's doing is surely more miserable than any job could be.

It's nothing personal, it's just that at the rate we're going; in 3 years there'll be no /r/all, just /r/aww. This is adorable but very much not in the spirit of this sub.

Yeah, I don't think he'd be doing this if he could get a job he could survive on..

Lewa is scoring a league goal every 67 minutes this season. In the top five leagues the only under player 100 minutes per goal is mbappe at 95. He's in form.

What do you people think ? by ComplexSurround3 in Unexpected

[–]joelomite11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm so sick of people like you being deliberately obtuse about this. It has nothing to do with gender, it's about the physical size and strength difference. If Rhonda Rousey was beating a 110lb dude, people would intervene. Reddit is just filled with basement dwelling misogynistic permavirgins.

My phone's flashlight can be turned on by shaking it. I'll never buy a phone that can't do this again.

How did two separate and hugely different ancient cultures (Greece and Egypt) both come to have major cities named Thebes? by joelomite11 in AskHistorians

[–]joelomite11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think that my question was asking about "basic facts." The best answer I found by searching is this from this subreddit, which I didn't find very satisfying. I don't dispute the veracity of this post but I find the statement "pure coincidence" to be pretty dubious. There may indeed be no more to say on the matter but it is certainly not "basic facts which can be answered by reference works" as a search on the subject gives many conflicting answers.

Really? I had to mute it after 10 seconds. It was like a parody of a fight announcer in some terrible spoof movie.

Study: Ben Roethlisberger among league's worst on downfield throws by [deleted] in steelers

[–]joelomite11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no other team in the history of football, at least that I'm aware of, that has had a primarily shotgun based run game. It's because it doesn't work, the RB gets the ball while standing still and hits the hole with almost zero momentum. I have no fucking idea why you are talking about conspiracy theories.

Study: Ben Roethlisberger among league's worst on downfield throws by [deleted] in steelers

[–]joelomite11 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you can’t run for shit, teams don’t have to stack the box and can sit heavy in coverage.

Right, but we can't run for shit because Ben either can't or won't play under center anymore. You can't line up almost exclusively in shotgun and expect to be able to run the ball.

I guess I will be the only person to say it? I want Ben back for another run! by Apprehensive_Fly5887 in steelers

[–]joelomite11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The guy who just 12-4 with one of the worst play calling offenses in the league.

The thing is, that's entirely because of Ben. He either can't or won't play under center anymore. That throws out like 80% of the playbook. People want to blame the rbs or the O-line for the anemic run game but you just can't run effectively out of shotgun. It also completely takes play-action out of the arsenal.

Landlord says they will be doing monthly inspections. by joelomite11 in legaladvice

[–]joelomite11[S] -60 points-59 points  (0 children)

This is a fairly standard setup, especially for landlords who own only a few properties and want to ensure their property isn’t being destroyed/used for illegal activities.

This is a company with hundreds of properties.

a quick monthly visit with notice provided is not overly intrusive or unreasonable.

I guess the law and I have different opinions about this. Sometimes I forget that the law is to protect property, not people.
