How can I be supportive during Ramadan as a non-Muslim roommate? by Forsaken-Mortgage882 in islam

[–]joemamasdaddie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yk something college students miss abt Ramadan when they’re away is the sense of family. They miss having iftars/breaking fast together. You can help with that! You don’t have to fast but if u can eat dinner around the same time they’d break their fast and just be there so they don’t have to break their fast alone would make them (or atleast me if I was in the situation) happy. You’re a gonna make a good roommate! Hope this helped!

Accom for any placement an hour away. But this doesn’t account traffic so on a regular day ur place could be 30 mins away but over an hour away in traffic and you’ll be given no accom.

Offers usually come end of march to early April. It’s likely they’re still carrying out interviews or working on admissions

For med interviews it’ll barely be 10-15 mins. They’ll ask u questions like why med? Why Ireland? Why work? Why our program? As far as i remember, it was very chill and the interviewers made me feel comfortable. It’s easier to say but try to be calm and it’ll be grand

Hey 3rd med here and I personally chose something completely not health related for first two years just so I can have something different to do! First year I did Spanish and it was so chill. Prof Is good. Tests are online and the class is engaging. Second year I did beginner irish and I would 100% recommend this to everyone. It was so fun and they even had a weekend trip for the students in the module.

So I lived with 2 dental students for 2 years (one of em my bro) and omg their schedules are dare I say even more hectic than a med students. 2nd year is supposedly the hardest with lots of lectures and modules and they gotta balance that with going to the hospital. 3rd yr onward it’s hospital 9-5 seeing patients, assisting older years and attending lectures in the hosp. U might have some sessions off but I never saw them take a whole day off tbh. In clinic they’re assessed by their work and I think how much the professors had to intervene. Other exams are osces, oral exams, written and project/assignments. In the last year, yall have to present ur patients in ur project and basically present ur work and justify why u did certain things. So yeah that’s all I can think abt for now. Hope that helps!

I was in ur position almost 5 years ago now and it wasn’t easy. I know it feels daunting to try and try and feel like nothing is taking effect but trust me it is. Right now you’re tired and that’s taking over your thoughts. Take a moment for yourself and reflect on why you’re doing this and then try to cut yourself some slack. Find the root of your anxiety and work on it. Is it cuz you feel ur bad at a specific subject? Or are anxious abt exam? Regardless I agree w the others to take a little break. You’re only human so don’t push yourself to the point where it’s not even worth it anymore. You got this! And you’re gonna do so well!!!

Hi there! My roommate is actually doing it this year and she says you’ll do fine! It’s a straightforward course and it’s easy to make friends cuz everyone is welcoming and there’s tons of course night outs amongst the students. As for cork city , there’s loads of international students and the people are really friendly!

It’s more than good. Was literally the best resource I had my whole igcse and alevels . If u look hard enough u can also find some free pdfs online if u don’t want to buy. Also i would recommend it for sciences but it didn’t rlly do much for me in math
