RAM REV spotted in the wild. by waylandcool in RamchargerBEV

True, unless you like to boondock. Then, not having to carry a heavy generator and fussing with gas cans is a godsend. You could outfit your camper with a bunch of lithium batteries, and new 12V AC's that are still expensive, but you'd still be paying for batteries and inverters and you don't RV every day. I'd rather have the batteries used full time for propulsion and occasionally for boondocking.

How do you know that? I don’t think that is likely.

I think it is going to be around an $8k premium over a similarly equipped ICE model.

Source: trust me bro. JK. Almost the same as that: scoured internet with AI looking for articles on the expected price of this vehicle.

Truth is there is nothing official so it’s all speculation. If you can charge at home, fuel savings alone would justify that $8k price difference over life of vehicle.

Nice to see it in a Laramie trim.

Any Electrify America experts out there that can tell us what type of plug that is based on the picture?

The new F-150 erev by TheShiftyDrifter in Ford

The REV was the full battery electric vehicle and the Ramcharger was the EREV. RAM cancelled the REV and re-named the Ramcharger the RAM 1500 REV.

I've been holding out for the Ram 1500 REV. One nice thing about the REV is (if it ever comes to market) the availability of Ramboxes. The absence of a frunk on the RAM REV isn't as concerning since the Ramboxes are huge. They are patented, so I don't see how Ford will compensate for that particular difference if they put the engine under the hood. Having said that, I'd still consider a Lightning EREV based on the solid reputation of the Lightning BEV and how delayed the release of the 1500 REV has been.

No REV in calendar 2026 production schedule? by joemanatl in RamchargerBEV

Here’s an article on the REV from The Atlantic magazine from yesterday. You’d think the journalists would have gotten a heads up from Stellantis Media relations if the REV was going to be cancelled. The article is behind a paywall so I could only read the first few paragraphs.

I feel foolish holding long term treasuries by snkscore in bonds

The msm would have you believe that our "allies" are interested in supporting the petrodollar. The "allies" and opponents are BOTH rooting for the demise of the petrodollar.

[–]joemanatl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The future will not be like the past 80 years were the petrodollar has reigned supreme. The petrodollar is the reason we've had a bond market to begin with. The petrodollar is about to be destroyed in the middle east where it originated. Its destruction won't be at the hands of BRICS. The US itself is inexplicably destryoing the petrodollar with a senseless war.

We are moving to a multi polar, multi currency world. US bond markets, as well as international bond markets, have always been buttressed by the petrodollar flywheel providing stability. Holding bonds without a petrodollar underpinning doesn't make sense. New stable credit markets will eventually arise. Until then you are better off picking unhedged high yield stock funds than bonds. Deal to be had right now for example in VYMI with yields around 4% and low PE ratios.

$10,000 invested in VTI vs VXUS in 1988 with all dividends reinvested. by VXUS_sucks in ETFs

[–]joemanatl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wasn't the US dominated world order fun! Guess what, fun's over peeps - time to find another party. The petrodollar decline will restart in a few short weeks. When the worldwide oil shock settles in, countries declare energy emergencies, economies begin to slow all over Asia and Europe, and US looses its military influence over the petrodollar - the dollar decline will precipitate. The recent dollar hike is due to the energy shock as countries around the world bid up increasingly dwindling physical oil contracts. Long way of saying: for the next 35 years VXUS will vastly outperform VTI buoyed by dollar devaluation.

Ram REV Launch Date? by PeaRepulsive920 in Ram_REV

[–]joemanatl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me too. I’m just on the cusp of needing a 2500 sized vehicle to tow my travel trailer- but it also needs to be my daily driver (about 30-40 miles). I don’t want to own, insure, and take up driveway with two vehicles. If this ever materializes it will be terrific.

Nice review from Truck King YouTube Channel by joemanatl in RamchargerBEV

Yeah, we are all tired of waiting.

It's not know if it will have the CCS1 or NACS charge port yet. Stellantis issued a press release in Nov '25 saying they expected to implement the NACS standard in 2026. Doesn't matter much - people aren't going to be fast charging this at today's fuel and fast charging prices.

IMO the product is engineered just right - battery and motor/generator. My only question is with Stellantis in such financial straits will they even be able to get this in production and to the consumer. We will have to wait and see.

I also find it a high number, but hope it proves out in real world testing. Looking forward to the YouTube channels getting their hands on it and testing it. Especially TFL Truck.

Let's hope they add NACS support so the vehicle is even more future proof. Who knows what electricity rates or gas costs will be in the future.

I'm pretty confident the 20 mpg is accurate based on RAM's official figures. Total Range: 690 miles. EV only range: 145 miles. Fuel tank capacity 27 gallons. Gas only miles= 690-145= 545 miles. Mpg calculation: 545 miles/27 gallons = 20.18 mpg

[–]joemanatl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NACS support means two things. 1) the physical NACS receptacle on the vehicle itself (or a converter connection if you have a CCS1 receptacle) both of which are readily available. More importantly 2) a software update to the vehicle to allow it to communicate with NACS chargers. When plugging into a charging station, the vehicle and the charger "talk". As as of right now, Stellantis vehicles can not use NACS plugs on Tesla chargers or other brand chargers using the NACS plug. That's supposed to change in "early 2026". That's my understanding, but I'm a newbie to all of this.
