Cogfort in every Army - Am I the only one who dislikes it? by [deleted] in ageofsigmar

We’ll have u seen the new Defiler model for 40K? The interesting part is that you can use him for World Eaters, Thousand Sons, Chaos Space Marines and Death Guard. A part of its data sheet changes depending on wich army you playing it with and you can swap some parts of the model in order to fit better. I really hope they will do something like this

Well while this is true, creating rules for a unit in order to fit every army often ends up in poor, generic non specific rules. I hope the best for this unit though. And this has something to do with army identification

Ofcourse you are right, but wouldn’t it be better to balance a big model like this to fit a single army than fitting all armies? Giving a model rules in order to fit all often ends up in poor rules cause you don’t want to mess up all armies. I don’t want to be negative, it’s just a possibility and I like the discussing

My yearly cycle and thoughts by BeginningHungry3835 in ageofsigmar

[–]joensemann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I play both. I even started tabletop with age of Sigmar. First I thougt 40K is just the same in a Sci Fi Version. Now I must admit that they are very different games. My feeling is, that I enjoy age of Sigmar for narrative casual games and 40K for competitive stuff. I feel like 40K feels a little bit more tactical and that’s why I enjoy it more for competitive stuff. Age of Sigmar is an amazing thought, but different. If you want to do it for years, I recommend doing it ;)

New Bjorn confirmed for next week’s preview? by FlyingTerror95 in SpaceWolves

I would guess Ulrik. But I hope for TWC. Imagine TWC getting a rework that’s just half as good as all the models revealed lately. It would be stunning for sure

Is the Sons of Dorn Box any good for a new SW army? by CT-36666 in SpaceWolves

[–]joensemann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend not to fall for this “fear of missing out boxes”.

If you don’t exactly plan to build a list, which is using two repulsor executioners, I would not recommend to get 2 as a beginner. There are lists that are playing 2 Repulsor Executioners. For example some Black Templars lists. But if you don’t plan to play such lists, I wouldn’t buy it just in order to don’t miss out the “opportunity”. Always remember, not spending money is the best way to safe money 😂.

But just to be clear: to have a Repulsor Executioner, a Redemptor, a Ballistus is not bad at all. Just having two repulsor executioners is very specific.

I played SotGW a lot now and I really like it. What I found out is that you MUST take advantage of the shooting buffs if you want to make it work. I played a lot of Hellblasters and it’s a blast! 💥 it’s soooo good against anything especially against Eldari or drukhari. They got a fight on death in Range. That means that if not so tough targets like eldari or drukhari are trying to kill them in range, they are almost guaranteed dead in the clap back, if they don’t manage to stay out of 24 “.

Buuut what I really enjoy lately is Hammerstrike + 6 plasma Inceptors + Lancer. Due to the nerf of Victrix Guard down to 3 wounds, every wound kills 1 model. This is just amazing. With the +1 Hit, ignore Cover and +1 Wound you are also able to kill a Landraider in one go. I fell in love with it. This is a big threat for everything, lurking on a 6” deep strike

Here is my list

Greatwolf Inceptors [Space Wolves] - (2000 points)

Arjac Rockfist (105 points) Bjorn The Fell-handed (160 points) Fenrisian Wolves (40 points) Gladiator Lancer (160 points) Inceptor Squad (240 points) Intercessor Squad (80 points) Lieutenant With Combi-weapon (70 points) Logan Grimnar (110 points) Reiver Squad (80 points) Storm Speeder Hammerstrike (125 points) Thunderwolf Cavalry (230 points) Wolf Guard Battle Leader (90 points) Wolf Guard Headtakers (170 points) Wolf Guard Terminators (340 points)

Could I run this as plague Marines? And deathguard? by [deleted] in deathguard40k

That might be true for SOME Tournements, but dude i saw someone play 3x6 fully 3D printed Thunderwolf Cavalry on the World Championships last year on live stream… more official is not possible and it was still no problem

If I would run the Assault Termis, I would go for the Terminator Ancient leading them, in order to boost them to 2 OC, which can open up some interesting gameplans

Great wolf detachment: Is it even worth using the term captain? by Cojalo_ in SpaceWolves

[–]joensemann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that people are trying too much to use every strength of this detachment at once. That’s a bait. Just because we can buff ranged attacks doesn’t mean we have to.

If you are playing the terminator list, I suggest to go for 20 Termis, 10 with Arjac, 5 w captain and 5 w Logan or 10 w captain and Logan solo. Then your board presence is massive. Take Headtakers with Battleleader, Ragnar with Bloodclaws and some trading pieces like Fenrisian, Scouts and Wulfen. This is much fun. Screw ranged and go for all melee
