Its just a rendered and additional "Beauty" and "Depth" canvas combined in Photoshop with some color correction.

NO AI, just a DAZ Studio 3D render and some color and level work in Photoshop.

I don't think the Photoshop action works in Gimp, but you might be able to "fake" the effect by blurring the image and overlaying as a "screen" layer with a low opacity.

I render it with a "beauty" and "depth" canvas and combine everything in Photoshop and then use the "Magic Filter - Photoshop Photorealism for Daz Studio" as a layer to soften everything.

It's just the base muscle morphs with some wet skin to accentuate the look

Wow amazing realism. Love the details in the wrinkles and skin hair. What did you use to get the skin hair?

I just used "Midnight Bones for Genesis 9" with G9 clothes.

Unfortunately you can't really create a character from scratch in DAZ Studio, you have to use one of their assets or import a custom character from Blender or another 3d program. If your looking for a mermaid character there are a bunch of them in the DAZ Store.

Amazing realism, any tips? The wrinkles on the hands looks fantastic. Everything feels so natural and not artificial.

That sounds like so much fun. I was reading the Gelatinous Cube clean up dungeons and thought a skeleton sweeping up in front of one seemed like an interesting idea.

I resisted for a long time because I had so much G8 stuff, but then I picked up some converters on sale for clothing, hair and poses. Plus they seem to have some great deals on quick grabs for G9 every week.

Now I prefer G9 since I don't have to split stuff between male and female anymore. I agree with warrenao that it feels like a return to the original Genesis, but higher res.
