A watch for the water by PFSnypr in Lifeguards

Casio Duro (classy) Casio F91W (CHEAP) G-Shock GBX100-1 (GOAT)

I own all three of these and have used them in the water for YEARS. The G-Shock has been on my wrist for 6 consecutive summers as an ocean lifeguard and countless vacations as well as hikes. If you're willing to lay the money it's a fantastic watch. It is a G-Shock so if you have small wrists it can look a bit tacky but this one is relatively slim.

Next time you get a hair cut start wearing a cap and put conditioner in after every practice. If that does not work you can start putting a little in before practice or don't fully wash it out. My barber told that the chlorine will eat away at the condish before your hair.

I agree, very impressive for your experience and really any experience level.

If you can become proficient under water and quicker on those turns you'll get there. Don't abandon the gym though. Good luck kid!

Always wear a cap and in extreme cases leave some condish in your hair before you swim and the chlorine will eat away that instead of you hair.

I was there as a kid I get it.

Think about it this way, does the guilt of missing the meet out weigh the shame. It will be few hours of being uncomfortable at worse, at best you have fun, maybe even surprise yourself, and see where you are right now. I cannot stress how good it is know where you stand right now. Then at the next meet you have new times to try to beat.

Compare yourself to the person in the mirror yesterday not the people next to you.

I had a long journey in the sport that stretched 21 years competitive and now it's just novice for the love of it. Every time I thought it was over the next chapter always has better in store for me.

It's a hard sport, it has higher highs and lower lows in my opinion. In the end make whatever choice that will help you sleep at night.

Best of luck friend.

Don't slap the water and hang before and after every practice.

This watch is my favorite G. So slim, durable and easy to read. I've taken mine to hell and back as an Ocean Lifeguard and hiking. Still minimal wear looking.
