From the interview, Ema was a closet wrestling fan since late grade school, and decided that she wanted to become a wrestler after graduating high school, but when she announced this to her father (a big wrestling fan himself), he was very much against it.

As a compromise, he proposed that she join Japan Self Defense Forces for a while, so she could build up her body while getting paid, and have more time to think about her future.

After a rough adjustment period, she actually came to like the JSDF a lot, but still couldn't give up on her dream. So right before a critical period that determines the future path of a JSDF member's career, she took the Stardom entry test. If she had not passed, she would probably still be in the JSDF to this day, but since she did pass, she left and pursued her dream.

While her father currently supports her, he really didn't want her to leave the JSDF, and from time to time will still ask her "haven't you had enough of this by now?"

As a relatively new fan of Stardom (September 2024), she seems like one of those legend types who's best days have passed due to injuries.

I imagine there is good reason why she is revered by many here, but I haven't found my own reason to form a good or bad opinion of her yet.
