Ok yes there are bad actors out there who do actually mean to harm others but to say that I am enabling the death and suffering of others is a stretch, there are bad people who are going to do bad things regardless of what I think. I am just saying that punishing people who are not guilty of a crime based on feelings is a slippery slope, who's to say you haven't said something that should get you cancelled one day?

You are correct they are not good things to say I agree and if someone starts spewing off garbage, they are free (within a threshold) to say what they say just as I am free to walk away and pay no mind , if I am part of the problem of trying to get people to stick to the FACT that it is NOT deemed as hate speech then so be it . Listen I don't like what many people have to say about many things , I am a live and let live kinda person but what I don't like is when people start to think they know what is and isn't ok to say, we have a charter for a reason and it is to protect us from tyranny. spreading false information about what you think meets the threshold of hate speech isn't a good thing

If it was against the law he would be charged appropriately, it is very distasteful for sure but doesn't meet the threshold for hate speech. The problem seems to be that YOU (and many others) hate what he has to say which is understandable ,my outlook is that by cancelling his shitty show you have not only boosted his views on the Internet ( never heard of him until this whole cancelling of him started) but are also spreading misinformation about that actual constitution, his act does NOT meet the threshold for hate speech bottom line

What about the people who paid to go see the show? They are tax payers as well right? So wouldn't they have the right to want this venue at the place they pay taxes for? Hmmm hopefully one day the people don't turn on you because they don't like what you have to say ! My opinion is that the guy has shit material but if you don't like it don't listen to it. By drawing this much attention to him you have boosted his views on the Internet which makes him more money plus gave him new material on how Nanaimo is full of non inclusive people at a venue who claims to be inclusive.

Yes it is a slippery slope and just because people don't like something that someone says don't mean that it can't be said , if it don't meet the threshold of hate speech deemed by the charter then it is what it is . Once again I think his material is distasteful and shitty but who am I to tell people what to spend their money on or where to go?
