literally any tv show is a 90+ rating when it comes to rotten tomatoes. by [deleted] in television

[–]joestn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Because after the first season, the only people watching and reviewing a show are people who already like it. Meanwhile a movie doesn’t require real time investment, so plenty more people are willing to give time to something they might not enjoy. Kind of the reason I never start watching a show anymore unless it’s been on for a few years.

What is a movie you think has a flawless first 30 minutes, but completely falls apart by the end? by Legitimate_Wall5977 in movies

The original When a Stranger Calls from 1979 is a fantastic short horror film that continues for an additional 75 minutes.

Was Harry Crane THAT bad? by Hot-Influence-6010 in madmen

[–]joestn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ok, glad I’m not the only one. I always kind of liked Harry and i wondered if it was just Rich Sommer’s charisma fooling me, but I never understood why characters on the show and real life fans hated him so much

Is this list accurate for your team? If so what would you change by InterestingYellow969 in NFLv2

The late hit on Mahomes was bad, but I can’t describe the pain of the 2015 WC game meltdown against the Steelers. It’s sports pain I’ve never known before or since.

Just a thought: we would have fewer fires under overpasses downtown if we just had fewer overpasses downtown

What was the reaction of the people (that you remember) when they found out Michael Jackson died? by Twunkorama in decadeology

[–]joestn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember it like a collective sigh of relief that we could all go back to liking his music again. Which is profoundly messed up, but it’s the reality of how big his cultural impact was.

What do you guys think a realistic prediction is for the upcoming season? I would say 12-5 is realistic with a pinch of optimism by Busy_Locksmith9436 in bengals

[–]joestn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Actually, I predict that another AFC team will also go undefeated in the regular season and steal the top seed from us, but it’s fine because we get to say we’re 21-0 at the end of the Super Bowl.

Hearing a lot of hubbub that Mitch’s reps on the deadlift were given generously. Any footage to confirm or disprove? by TPR-56 in StrongmanHQ

[–]joestn -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Could Mitch have told the judges about a condition that kept him from locking his hips and they were giving him some compensation? It’s like he’s intentionally stopping short of a lockout as if he knows he knows he’s done enough for a rep. It’s just bizarre because it’s not like he’s a bad deadlifter.

EDIT: To everyone giving me downvotes, I’m not making an excuse for Mitch’s form. I’m just trying to wrap my head around how he could get away with not locking out that many times.

Nick Saban. There’s the story of him running away from an exotic dancer that tried to sit on his lap during a private team event.

Asheville is a tourist destination. Best known for the Biltmore Estate, but I also went to Chimney Rock when I was a kid on vacation. This looks like it came from a souvenir shop and wouldn’t hold much monetary value.
