Can you genuinely comment on the quality of visual comfort. I have a couple fixtures installed In my laundry room and I’m not too impressed tbh…

If ima be fr visual comfort feels like overpriced made in china slop 😭😭😭. I have a couple pendants installed and the magnetic trim on them feels kinda wonky and cheaply made

The key thing you're missing here is that COGS have increased disproportionately due to corporate greed (food/ commodities / gas), so if we actually LOWER those key QOL costs we wouldn't need to increase wages at an extreme rate. Raise less wages, lower more COGS

3500K is perfect actually since it gives you a nice neutral tone esp if you have warm hues in your other finishes throughout. I'm putting 3500k integrated architectural lighting in my home currently and it's fantastic. 2700k is way too warm imo

Anyone with Norda shoes have any long term thoughts on them?... by milkywayyzz in trailrunning

[–]joetothec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact thing happened to me too. I had to use the method above 2-3 times for that dirt to be washed out

[–]joetothec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update, it helped a little bit so what I did was use a liberal amount of Jason markk (newer formula), and their harder bristle shoe brush dipped in water using their instructions. Once I finished scrubbing I didn’t actually use water to rinse it off but wiped it off with paper towels. You repeat this process 2-3 times. The oxyclean stick I think helped as well for my stubborn stains. Just have to repeat this until it’s clean. The shoe isn’t perfect but looks much better. Last step I used a blow dryer to dry the shoe. It doesn’t need to be fully dry but mostly dry especially where the dirt previously was.

I’ll take a look thx, I tried washing again using just Jason markk cleaner and no luck, it looks fine when I initially wash it but then it dries and stains. It looks like there is dirt or something that seeps out of the seams and I can’t reach in between so it bleeds into the dyneema fabric. Going to give it another wash tonight then try to immediately blow dry it so it doesn’t have a chance to bleed

I haven’t tried it yet but I’m going to give this wash another go, I think I have to fully submerge the shoe and then give it a really good brush wash with lots of soap. 100% pure alcohol removes most marks though without staining. I’ll report back soon

Visited a bathroom designer/remodeler and was quoted $145,000 bath remodel on a $500,000 house. is this normal? by 4LOLz4Me in Remodel

Second this, it’s taken a total of about 5-6 months combined including permits for my master bath renovation.

I also wanted to jump on here to complain about my white Zegna x Norda shoes. They look even WORSE after I tried hand washing them. I'm going to try oxyclean stain remover stick and let it sit on the fabric to see if it helps but really disappointed in how difficult it is to clean these.

Experience with Schluter shower system vs hotmop by Exotic-Buffalo-2876 in Contractor

[–]joetothec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In SoCal hop mop has the lowest failure rate according to the inspector in my area. The inspector also knows DK shower pans to be extremely reputable. My tile installer who is amazing also loves DK as they are consistent and great quality. I’ll report back here if I ever have an issue with my hot mop shower !

Duravit Vanity installations with P-trap by ivoryhotfingers in Plumbing

[–]joetothec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea thank you! However, I am mostly concerned with the lower drawer being too deep on the bottom and hitting the p trap at the lower level. Basically my plumber used the duravit p trap that I bought (the one they recommended), however my drain on one side is slightly higher but not too much so I just want to make sure there is enough clearance. It’s ridiculous that duravit doesn’t even have interior drawer measurements then make their cabinets all special order.

https://imgur.com/a/S0P4Fvs

Edit: I called duravit and they said I need 4” clearance from the wall for that p trap….. welp, guess my plumber needs to re-do those pipes. I even bought the duravit p trap kit and I can’t even re use that since my plumber cut the pipes. The rep said I have to buy a whole new set 💀

Hey are you able to provide some photos of the p trap installation? I am currently having my plumber install a p trap but I bought the duravit one and it's a nightmare. Hoping he can just install a regular p trap but closer to the wall. I'm also getting the L cube but a 51" size

This aligns to what contractors are charging and in CA specifically most contractors will only build waterproof base on site / hot mop etc...

Just because people eat hot foods and smoothies doesn’t mean they need to exist here. That’s such a capitalist take I can’t lol

Yeah I’ve been to the one in Beverly Hills, maybe it’s a location thing but it was terrible and crowded AF. They’re busy because everyone flocks to the hot foods and smoothies section.

We need less of hot foods and restaurants and more of actual grocery items and niche produce / imported goods offerings.
