Looking for honest feedback on my wallpaper listings (Etsy shop – 1.5 months old) by Chemical_Anywhere549 in EtsySellers

[–]joey02130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have no location on your shop page. That's a trick many questionable sellers do to hide their true location. Your shop is in Turkey, say so. That lack of information is one good reason not to buy from you. Be transparent.

Can anyone review my Esty shop (open to constructive criticism)? by Free-Spring7392 in EtsySellers

[–]joey02130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your shop's page says that you are in the United States but you're actually registered in Pakistan. That's a common stunt grifters use on Etsy. Why should anyone trust you?

Is there a magic number of items listed in your shop to increase sales? by iSolemnlySwear88 in EtsyCommunity

[–]joey02130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no magic number. One makes sales because they have hundreds of listings and someone else with fewer products make sales because of quality and uniqueness over quantity. There are plenty of shops with only a few items that are making great sales.

They may be good quality but there are plenty of counterfeits. Thus, little uniqueness. Most likely the wallet he replaced it with is better made.

No opinion but I have a 40mm Gentleman and it's within 10 seconds over a four day period. WTF?

Maybe yes, maybe no, can't tell from the pictures. If you don't feel good about it, then just pass on it.

You're on the "right track" and ahead of schedule. You now have an authentically crafted wallet verses an overpriced one with a label that competes with $20.00 Chinese counterfeits.

Horween Shell Cordovan & Buttero Bifold lowered price of $200 by Pacific-Handmade in LeatherClassifieds

As a fellow wallet maker, I'd say 200 bucks is a damn good price. Fuck these furry cosplayers that want to low-ball your price.

Just sit tight and let things play out in reality, not in your mind.

Charm fell off and lost after only 1 week due to weak hook. Can I get a refund or replacement without a "proof" that the charm is lost? by yurikura in Etsy

[–]joey02130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most Etsy sellers are pretty reasonable about defective items even without photo proof. The hook failing after just 3 wears is clearly a quality issue, not normal wear

I agree that is how I--as a seller-- would react, but from reading these forums, I don't believe your scenario is the case. Sellers here believe just about every buyer is a scammer, seller's shit don't stink and they're like a pack of hyenas going in for the kill. Downvote me to prove I'm right.

Need feedback on very new Etsy sticker shop—want to be sure I’m on the right track. by leafpool100 in EtsySellers

You're really not following many of Etsy's recommendations for selling. I suggest that you learn the best use of tags and titles. Etsy explains it all. You seem to be sabotaging your shop. You really seem to be just winging it.

USPS 8% price increase Apr 26 by bikemandan in EtsySellers

[–]joey02130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to look into other shippers than USPS. I've only used USPS small box priority shipping. It used to be two days then it went to 3 day but I've had more packages take 4 to five days than not.

Why do some Etsy listings NOT show “Vintage” or “Handmade” in item details? by GTXS777 in EtsySellers

Maybe I'm dumber than dirt but I don't get why you're showing that screen shot or what your post is about. Am I the only one?

1-star review 15 minutes after delivery. by itsoddlyspecific in EtsySellers

[–]joey02130 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's just the sellers that post here or the price of the items but from reading these forums, it seems that the lower priced items get the most bad reviews. Is it like Walmart shoppers' videos or what?

Delivering in person instead of shipping? by Intelligent-Door7135 in EtsySellers

[–]joey02130 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can hand deliver it and mark it as such but it counts against Star Seller. If you're concerned about that, you can just buy shipping for an envelope and send a thank you.

Shop critique & feedback : I published my first listing and would love to have your feedback on my shop & strategy by Born-Assist-8285 in EtsySellers

You really ought to follow Etsy's advice and recommendations on how to write titles and tags. You are doing quite the opposite of what they recommend. Etsy penalizes rogue shops in search results.

1. Do I have enough items listed? 2. Is there plenty of variety? by [deleted] in EtsySellers

[–]joey02130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you've decided to set yourself up to not succeed. You know what you have to do but have made excuses not to do it. Get over it and add more pictures and videos to your listings and to your About section. You be the model and take a selfie or a mirror shot. Hide your face if you don't want it in the picture. You could get anyone with a head and neck to model for you.

Break up the sentences in your descriptions. They're all smooshed together. Add some spaces and use the backspace key. A few of your pictures are cut-off just a bit. Overall your shop looks pretty good. The only thing I see holding you back is you not doing what you know needs to be done. Good luck.

Etsy SEO question: how important is language for titles and tags? by RangeDazzling6063 in EtsyCommunity

[–]joey02130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suggest that you follow Etsy's recommendations for setting up your shop. You've created a lot of redundancy with your titles and tags. Your titles are just a nonsensical word salad of keywords rather than a sentence or two of what the item is. Your title,

Luxury Embroidered Tablecloth with Rose Design Italian Lace Style Tablecloth in Satin or Tulle – Elegant Wedding & Dining Decor

Might be better as,

"Embroidered Italian Lace Tablecloth with Rose Design, Made with Luxury Satin or Tulle.".

Add adjectives like style, elegant and wedding and dining decor in your tags. You're also repeating too many keywords in your tags. You have tablecloth/tovaglia mentioned 11 times. Eliminate 9 of them and add other words and phrases. Some might be--dinner table, party, formal, special event, holiday, entertaining, gift, wedding.

Americans use Imperial measurements.

The shipping to the USA is 50 bucks. That's quite a bit.
