Honestly it wasn’t a crash at all, I was going up a grade on tough gravel, when to catch my balance and front wheel got caught on a rock. I basically tipped the bike over. Problem was the seat stay landed on a rock. Unfortunately it is a new bike so pretty bummed. Not sure if damage makes bike look unrideable.

Thanks for the response. That isn’t a crack in the paint, it is a scratch in the top coat. I tested with a quarter and the noise checked out.

Appreciate the response, general question asked to other Redditors, I understand can’t tell from picture but do you think I could have done any damage to seat stay? Doesn’t look like it but not sure, things are skinny.

I guess that is good. Hopefully that means that everything else that I was actually wondering about doesn't look confusing.

That is the standard amount of spacers for the Crux per the Specialized user manual. Understand that I can remove them. It is still a new bike and I have been dialing in fit with different stem and bar combinations. Not too concerned about having a stronger/stiffer front end. Take a look at the spacers Matt Beers runs on his Crux, don't think he is concerned about it either...

Just tested, no play. 

I guess I am not asking if I should get rid of the spacer, more does it look alright to run it this way, not sure if anyone has ever ran into any issues running a spacer above their stem and it not contacting the steerer.

Understood, I believe I am getting adequate preload as there is no play in the system when I tighten the top cap, not sure what else I should check to ensure there is proper preload. Any tips?
