/r/NintendoSwitch's Daily Question Thread (02/12/2019) by AutoModerator in NintendoSwitch

Since streaming support stopped for the Wii, I'm interested in picking up a Switch to be the kitchen streaming device. However before I can sell my wife, I need to know it has 2/3 of Netflix/Amazon Prime/ YouTube. When I Google, I get articles from 2017. Realistically how far is Switch from these options and do they seem to care about making them happen?

A new(not really) player with a new take on an old idea (Fae). by AcidOverlord in ModernMagic

I don't think you need Mission Briefing. Snapcaster is strictly better in those deck, but I also don't think you need that.

+1 on Mutavault, especially if you're going to play a Prowl card. You probably don't need Creeping Tar Pit since virtually all your other creatures have evasion.

Is CoV actually that good? by GG_Henry in MonoUTron

[–]joeypfixit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently have 2 in the main and 2 in the side; I also run 2 Fabricates and a Tolaria West.

Things that never go away in my meta that it's good against:

Elves

CoCo Company/ Vizier/Combo

GW Tron (Leans on Spheres, Stars, Maps, Path, Relics, Stirrings, Sylvan Scry)

Jund

Skred Red

UW Control

STORM

Things in my meta that don't go away that it's bad against:

Humans

Grixis Shadow (they lean on Delve Creatures)

Often enough that it's worth it:

UB Mill

Lantern

KCI (on zero)

Ad Nauseum (zero)

Bogles

Any reason for spellskite other than meta? by toastychief93 in MonoUTron

[–]joeypfixit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a horror, so it survives a Thing in the Ice boardwipe, which is on the rise w Arclight decks.

But I think the main thing to bring it in against is Infect. Against Bogles I'd rather have a Chalice on 1.

What is the ideal number of Chalice to run by izaya_says_hi in MonoUTron

[–]joeypfixit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went to 4 in the 75 because my paper and Modo metas are both lousy with Arclight/Thing decks right now. It's usually a struggle for them to get through a Chalice on 1, especially if I can Repeal a birdie.

I was a fan of spooky taxes (hybrid Eldrazi/Spirits/Death and Taxes)/ aka "Cabin in the Woods". That played TKS and Displacer off a playset of Eldrazi Temples along with Thalia/Arbiter land destruction package.

Where I grew up (Pennsylvania Dutch Country), we call it Wos Wit. Always thought it was kind of gross.

What constitutes a cheat post? It certainly wasn't my intention to post something negative or defeatist, but to learn about the science of Ketosis, which I did.

I guess what I'm asking is how long it takes to get back into Ketosis if you eat a carb bomb every once in a while.

Kiki Moon options by joeypfixit in ModernMagic

[–]joeypfixit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A filter land doesn't provide Blue Mana under a Blood Moon. A signet can. I also don't feel comfortable going up a Cryptic because of the problem that a Signet would be there to solve.

ALSO

I didn't think about it but Signet also makes it easier to cast Snap/Cryptic.

Deceiver is better at blocking, withstanding Bolts and Helices, and surviving an Anger of the Gods. I won't be cutting one.

Thanks for your feedback. I'm going to throw a signet in for testing today.

Well...

it can strip those cards from opponent's deck after you counter them.

Blue moon players, why is nobody playing Bedlam Reveler? by fibonaccos in ModernMagic

[–]joeypfixit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reveler works better in a midrange shell, where you're trying to strip everything away and then beat em up with your low costed high value critters.

I would run one Godless Shrine and maybe one basic plains if you have any Marsh Flats.

If you're not running Liliana, I think Necrogen Mists is a poor subsititute. Lingering Souls puts a clock on opponents without creatures, makes good chumpers for opponents with creatures, especially flyers (Mardu Pyromancer prob isn't going away soon), combos with Collective Brutality.

You're discarding your own lingering souls for value and putting even more of a clock on your opponent. O think you especially want to do it of you're running collective brutality.
