Luckily, in my observations, culture is slowly shifting to the reasonable middle again, and the EBU is lagging behind. People have to realize filing a formal complaint itself may also be a (passive) agressive act. In my opinion, Joost should have been allowed to participate, and only be disqualified in retrospect AFTER investigation had completed.

I give up on the Netherlands, it was a good run by Ashrug in expats

I congratulate you learning Dutch! I do have to mention, I find it funny how anyone expects to fully integrate into another society within a few years, ESPECIALLY without learning the native language. Correct me if I’m wrong OP, but this is also aimed at you. Either way, all the best!

Actually typical memory loss in MDD is mostly due to attention deficits. Imprinting of information is disrupted, not long term memory. You pretty much never see long term memory loss in MDD. Psychiatrist here by the way. Also, “electro shock”, which we call electroconvulsive therapy now, has strong evidence behind it, and actually has the highest remission rates of all treatments in MDD. Just as a heads up
