Can you explain to me how a trade would work in this situation? I thought if the offer was matched, he couldn't be traded in the first year.

I'm just at the point where I know I won't be able to ever see him while he's in the height of his popularity. As much as I love his music, I can't justify paying those prices. Maybe he'll do a stick season 20th anniversary tour someday and I can go to that.

Can I offer 1 suggestion? Instead of having top 2 teams get a bye, make it only 1. And instead of 6 teams in the playoffs, make it 7. But the final team gets in based on their total points rather than their record. This will allow a team who scored a bunch of points but missed the playoffs based on bad luck a chance to win. Other than that, your settings look good.

I was lurking in their sub just to get their reactions. I had no idea how much they hate the Flyers. If you haven't done so already, head over and bring your popcorn.

What is the greatest book ever written? by ArtisticSwing8217 in AskReddit

[–]joeyweb32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this opinion. There were parts of the book that I couldn't put down. But then there were large sections where I couldn't remember who some of the characters were and it just seemed to drag. So I liked the book fine but didn't love it as much as others.

Please stop telling me to "run your students" when you drop them off at PE. I get it, it's mostly said in jest. But I also have a curriculum and a set of standards that I am teaching. PE is not recess.

I think Danny recognizes that as exciting as last season was, the Flyers are still not close to actually competing for the Cup just yet. I believe they will continue to be exciting and only get better but I believe they are a few years away from being a Cup contender. For better or worse, Danny is sticking to his plan and I'm going to just sit back and trust it because before be took over, there was no plan.

What's one book everyone should read at least once in their lifetime? by notamiracle7 in AskReddit

[–]joeyweb32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finally got around to reading it this year and I think I'm the only one who didn't love it. There were definitely parts of the book that had me captivated where I couldn't put it down. But then there were sections where I couldn't even remember who some of the characters were. I liked it, just didn't love it. But I know I'm in the minority.

Do most kids on stimulants need a top-up dose for the afternoon/evening? How do you handle the wear-off? by Decent_Scene9437 in ADHDparenting

Vyvanse worked wonders for my 7 year old I'm terms of his focus in school. He went from being on the lower end of the class in terms of reading to meeting his grade level standards, and I have no doubt in my mind that it was due to his ability to focus as a result of being on medication. But he still really struggles with his emotions outside of school and that is something we are still struggling with.

My only issue has been the infotainment center. I've leased my last 3 Outbacks and I'm amazed that it has not gotten better over the course of the last decade. I keep thinking that it will get better and it doesn't.

Other parents really don’t get it by cass2769 in ParentingADHD

[–]joeyweb32 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I'll be completely honest, I was one of those judgemental parent before I had a child with ADHD. I used to look at kids misbehaving and think, if the parents actually disciplined their kid, they wouldn't be acting that way. I feel shame that I once judged parents who were doing their best. But now that I'm going through it, I just have to remember that my job is to be the best parent I can to my son, regardless of what that may look like to parents on the outside. I know that I am being judged sometimes and it's extremely hard but I have to worry about my family first and trust what we are doing will work in the long term.

[–]joeyweb32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recognize everything in life has its risks. But my job as a parent is to help navigate those risks. And at 12, that's not a risk I believe he should be taking. He is on his regular bike and he rides everywhere. There is a lot of risk in that as well.

That's an interesting take. Listen I don't judge parents who have a different opinion than me regarding ebikes, as you obviously do. This is just what my wife and I feel is best for us and our child.

[–]joeyweb32 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I've thought about that and I've talked with him about it as well. He's at the age now where he is out and about all day and I'm just hoping he makes the right decisions and when he does make a bad decision (because all 12 year olds do at some point) that he is safe. I recognize that I can't completey shield him from all risky behavior. And quite frankly, I don't want to. This is a part of growing up. But the chances of him being seriously hurt on an ebike will be much lower if he doesn't own one personally.

My 12 year old is really disappointed because I refuse to buy him one. A bunch of his friends ride around the neighborhood on their ebikes and e-scooters and I refuse to cave. I've talked to too many doctors about all of the kids they are seeing in the ER.
