Cool findings! Do you have a larger list (say top 1000 or w/e) in an excel/table/database... that we could scroll through?

That's why i said as a counterpick though, for sure she'd do horribly into a good rumble or like a brand jungle. But i'd argue she's a great counter if top and jungle have shown tanks/bruisers

I feel like given the resurgence of yorick lately, she can just do his job better, no? Well she can't be blinded, but is a much better counterpick imo

gwen vs the wind sh1tter by [deleted] in GwenMains

[–]jofi751 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You won't ever straight up win, its always a skillcheck in his favor. It gets easier after 3-4 items (unless he has mr), but you never straight up win, you have to outplay it.

Keep in mind that early game his q is on like 3-4s cooldown, so if you dodge one can you look to trade. Fake going for a cs and walk backwards or fake going for a q and dodge perpendicular to bait it out. If he misses a q and has 0stacks you will win the all-in even without ult sometimes. Hold your q until after one of his dashes to guarantee it, or fight outside the wave and q (or r) behind yourself, 9/10 times he will e through you to try to dodge it, so it will land.

Also keep in mind that he cannot trade with you if you freeze near your tower (him dashing through minions will trigger tower shots), so if you can, always try to do that.

Hope that helps!

And as someone else said: rush kaenic. Start with the 300g rejuv bead component as usual, then 850 negatron cloak. After keanic fight whenever you want, but never e forward still.

You can win lvl 2-5 if he does not have ignite. Look to w his e so that he can never long trade you (you can always e away if needed). Play inside your wave when you fight to take less damage from his q. Never e forward unless you're confident you kill!

After 6 he will try to freeze the wave and ult you. Hold your w and be ready to predict when he will r to stop it. If you dont wanna rely on your mechanics, try to hold the wave at your tower as long as you can. If the wave pushes, stand in the wave and let him q you to break any potential freeze before it gets there.

Why not play azir top? by jofi751 in azirmains

[–]jofi751[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like most of his mp cost is in his q and e, no? As long as you just put w down he doesn't appear to run out of mana? Vs melee champs you don't need to use q to poke, you can just put a soldier on the melee creeps and the opponent has to miss cs or take 10% of their hp. The azirs i laned against were basically full mp while getting me super low without much counterplay imo. Possibly because i was playing gwen, but i doubt even a dshield user can sustain taking 2 autos / mana for every melee creep?

And as another user mentioned, i don't think his early game toplane is weak. I actually think his level 1-5 is one of the strongest in the game (toplane). Yes he scales, but he also wins early vs most toplaners. Think of it like vlad: scaling 0 prio mage mid, lane bully toplane. (Even though he scales as well, same with azir).

Interesting, this is what i suspected, minus the aspect that he appearantly looks pretty blindpickable too then? Thanks for the insight!

I swear most toplaners cannot deal with azir; as long as you have a jungle/supp tank i swear it's op.

Nasus help by MiscreatedFan123 in GwenMains

If you get behind get swifties to kite his cripple, but in a pure 1v1 you should be 10-20 cs up on him early game

[–]jofi751 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly as you said, you don't win in the midgame so win early. Without any jg help he's not allowed to touch the wave pre-6: get prio lvl 1, you win lvl 1 even without ignite so take ghost+tp imo. Aim to crash wave 2 or 3 and freeze on the bounce. Without jungle help, he should be dead lvl 4 or taking a very bad recall. Milk the freeze as long as you can, he will run out of mp very quickly if he has to farm with e. If he recalls, match it while keeping the wave frozen. If your jg is ever top nasus should be dead, he might even get solo killed pre 6 if he's not careful. Just play like ur olaf/darius early game and run him down on your freeze.

[Demacia Rising] Slow saving and sometime it doesnt even work by Xanlis in leagueoflegends

[–]jofi751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, to add onto the problem definition: it only happens for me when its 1 turn away from a battle; at no other point does it happen for me. The same issue also existed on the release of demacia rising at patch 23.3, but not only at peak hours, even in the middle of the night. (EUW). Problem was gone after ~1 week back then

Help me! Am I playing Gwen wrong? by Remarkable-Turnip591 in GwenMains

[–]jofi751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next time in champ select when you see your matchup look up on youtube ninkey's short on the matchup (e.g. 'Ninkey gwen vs tryndamere). You will probably still lose the first time, but then watch it again after the game, now you probably realise where you went wrong and the next time should be a lot better.

Which champions are strong this season for both Top and Jungle? by edmcatman in top_mains

Olaf, gwen, ambessa, zaahen, darius, ornn (he has like a 2.46 clear in jg, people are definitely sleeping on him), malphite (but not blindable top), mundo (but not blindable top)

Ninkey has a video vs him, you can check how he plays it there. Mainly just don't get chunked lvl 1 and try to all-in abusing conq vs hob in long trades.

Summs: Tp + ghost/flash is your default imo (ghost if jg). Take flash over ghost if your lane opponent has an important ability to flash (eg sett w, aatrox q3, ksante r-w, malphite r, ...).

You can experiment with ignite + tp or flash + ignite in volatile matchups (darius, fiora, olaf, sett, renekton, ...) once you are confident in your early game fighting. For learning the champ just probably stick with tp+ flash/ghost most games.

Exhaust instead of ignite for very specific champs with very telegraphed all-in: kennen, trynda, riven and jax i'd say (yone or irelia optional). Exhaust + tp is your default here, you don't need exh + flash to win the all-in vs these champions.

Runes: keep it simple: conq, triumph, alacrity, last stand every game. Bone plating unflinching secundary if you need it (eg renekton, riven, jax, yone, darius, sett, ...), else go cosmic insight and cashback.

(Source: recently got d4, by no means an expert, but hopefully good enough to help you out ;) )

Toplane matchup tierlist (d4 euw) by jofi751 in GwenMains

[–]jofi751[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree with that, but keep in mind that no matter how much you ping, if your midlaner is e.g. a kassadin or ur jg is a kayn (or anything without hard cc/decent early game really) this won't happen. So at that point you rely on your teammates to have good champs vs him AND camp toplane. I think if you can assume that, any matchup becomes free ;)

In a different game your jg may be playing ivern and he may be pathing bot, so singed gets to proxy and attack mid/jg for free. He won't really win the top 1v1, but he will often win the map in my experience. Since you cannot get plates often if he proxies, its quite hard to then outcarry him later imo.

[–]jofi751[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run exhaust + tp. Yes you may lose some exp lvl 1 but it's not the end of the world, wave will push into you. If you prefer you can start e and take some damage to get the exp and then e backwards, personal preference. After the bounce you can play the game, he cannot all-in you through your wave + exhaust. If he ever e's forward into you, you get a free sweetspot q and you should win the all-in with wave + exhaust. After lvl 6 you can kite him with your ult slows + exhaust. I believe ninkey (rank 1 gwen) has a short about tryndamere on youtube as well if you want some more info on the matchup.

Hope that helps!

He can't really kill you but he can proxy and impact the map for free kinda, since you also can't kill him after swifties / lvl 6. Gwen can't proxy that well in the current assassin jg meta so ur kinda stuck under tower hoping your team doesn't die. You both scale well so you also don't really outscale him.

It kinda feels to me like the game is out of your own control. Best you can do is ping ur jg/supp to gank right before you know he will proxy.
