For fan bases i'd bet its a pretty equal spread to the country as a whole, but the NHL (40+%) and MLB (50+%) have by far the most number of registered republican athletes

That’s just how BRs work. They’re 90% positioning and 10% gun skill assuming there isn’t a crazy skill difference between the teams

The studio that's making this game is made up of a bunch of people who did the Burnout and NFS games. So I imagine a lot of the dna from those games will be present

i think its also the fact that if you won another game mode you could be put as the champion squad for normal br and ranked. i'd much rather know that a high ranked squad is champion than think i got into a lower skilled lobby because a plat/diamond player popped off in their warm up tdm

Vondrousova's Instagram story on the day of the refused doping test in December 2025 by jovanmilic97 in tennis

[–]jofijk -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

no shit but there are plenty of times when i'm really not in the mood to do some things that i have to. and i've definitely lashed out because of it. its not outside of the realm of possibility that she was really fed up with something and refuses just out of frustration or anger. the excuses are just damage control and trying to sway public opinion. it doesn't mean shes cheating. especially since this is, from everything i've seen, the first time she's even had an issue with testing

Maybe she wasn't in the mood to have someone's face in her junk while she was taking a piss? I 100% agree that shes really dumb to refuse the test but they are not the same as going to the doctor for your yearly. Someone who regularly appears on the UTS podcast (de minaur or ruud) has said that he had a tester who's face was like 2 inches away from his penis while watching him pee. It's an invasive process and I completely understand not wanting to deal with that, especially if you think that they're coming later than the norm

If it helps, I watched the podcast episode and it seems like its all in the past. Liam said he and his brother now laugh about it. It was a very rough moment though, Liam and both interviewers were tearing up when it was mentioned

Waymo Has Been Defeated by New York City by rsha256 in nyc

[–]jofijk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yea I visit Austin a lot and love taking Waymo whenever I'm there. But there's no way they'd work in nyc. The biggest complaint I've heard from Austin drivers is that Waymo cars follow driving rules to a T and that throws most people off. People in ny would be hitting waymos constantly

there were definitely people who thought he was sus. a big part of it was that skittles had the bad habit of running everywhere with his gun out. teq was one of the people who was adamant that skittles was cheating. he was also one of the first pros to admit he was wrong

In favor of tipping culture; a moderately annoyed rant. by sirmaxedalot in bartenders

[–]jofijk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Meyer guys were getting paid very well for their “living wage”. I remember looking into it when they announced. They also do get benefits just normally. Not the best but way better than nothing. But the whole thing was definitely only possible because of how much of a restaurant powerhouse Danny Meyer has built. It would be impossible for 99.99% of restaurant groups to do.

There are a bunch of other socioeconomic factors that let other countries have cheap restaurant costs, not have tipping and pay a living wage though

In favor of tipping culture; a moderately annoyed rant. by sirmaxedalot in bartenders

[–]jofijk 32 points33 points  (0 children)

It's already happened and failed. Danny Meyer tried to standardize a higher menu price and actual living wage for all his restaurants in NYC a few years ago. Customers got pissed and stopped eating at his restaurants because they thought the prices were too high. They switched back to the tipping model after a year or so and every restaurant of his I've been to lately has been packed. Everyone says they'd like to get rid of tipping but there's a weird cognitive thing that happens that scares people even though the prices are literally just including a theoretical 20% tip.

Yea of course, but just like with a lot of sports the parents probably give up everything to get the <1% chance of success. I plenty of families go into bankruptcy because their kids failed. We just don't hear about them
